I would say pm Zuz she will be more then willing to do so... But then you will only have it by next weekend though
Maybe Scari is willing to make one
Cause I would love to have it too...She is *too* cute.
If I didn't have to start working again tomorrow I would try to make one myself but I have to figure out how to do it so... I might try it though...if I have some time If I find some time lol...Cause working 12 hours a night, doesn't leave me a lot of time...
If I just wanted to see Amanda, I'm sure I could find a con a lot closer to me than the other side of the pond. One of the primary draws for me is that there will be so many Gateworlders there to meet. There are so many people on Samanda I want to meet, and to have so many of them in the same place will be such grand fun.
What nonfans don't realize is that fandom is so much more than a television show. It's about meeting people whom you have so many things in common with. There's a given starting point to the conversation, but after that, anything goes. I've had so many excellent conversations with fans that have nothing to do with fandom.
I met my best friend, suse, at Shore Leave over a decade ago, for which I will be forever grateful. We would be very bored if all we had in common was the latest show. Most of the time, we find each other highly entertaining.
Before last summer's Shore Leave, I had spent very little time here, but I had been reading fanfiction for years. I knew exactly who Sky was, and when I met her, I was definitely gobsmacked. I find her more impressive than most of the actors.
Yes, I fangurl Sky. I will never be an actor, but one day, I may be a writer.
I'm starting to fangurl lots of you.
Somebody told me years ago that if I truly wanted to do something, I would find a way to make it happen. AT3 is unlikely on the surface, but I'm going, and I'm dragging suse with me. (Actually, suse is probably dragging me, but that's another story.) I can't wait to see Amanda and sky and mini and TJ and scari and Ooooober and Mandy and RL and tsax and spazzy and FF and CG and starr and....*
*I don't know who's going, so this list is in no way accurate.
Try as I might to explain this to my family and friends, they truly have no idea what it's all about! I call this my happy place...coz you all make me so happy...except when you talk about gabit and how cool it is and I can't get there...D'oH...just kidding!!
Samandan's totally rock...you are all such gorgeous people. I can't think of one Samandan who hasn't inspired me or made me laugh!
And you mini crack me up all the time...I hope you are going to be at AT4...I know I'm jumping the gun a bit here about AT4 but it has to happen...it's just gotta!!
Yep...well said CG...she has brought us all together from all different parts of the world...all different walks of life...we're all united by the wonder that is Amanda Tapping.
I hope your friend will recover quickly...eighteen is far too young to be having a breakdown...unfortunately it's not something new...I know of others who have been in the same situation...why do we do this to ourselves and our children??
Have a great trip CG..be safe and have fun with the grand kiddies
And if you make to Vancouver...have fun...I hear it's beautiful there!!
Night night...again!
Hey I haven't been there for long but I concur. I was a lurker here then joined in the fun (Mandy was organising a game ) during AT2 because even if I thought I was ok I wasn't, thinking of everyone over there, and I was glad to find other folks to bring my mind off of that a little
I found my best friend thanks to SG too, because we both admire Amanda. My mom finally understand that internet wasn't just a virtual thing.
And I was so glad to meet some of you a month ago, I thought 'if some people are crazy enough to go to Toronto see Amanda in TVM, I think I'll find them on GW' hé hé
Which might be marginally better than unsuccessfully blinking back tears and then have your first words be "I, I come from the same country as two great system lords."
I'm about four pages too late, I think, to join in lol. I've had a phenomenally awful week which ended yesterday with a silver lining, so I've had a lot to catch up on. I think one of the great things about Amanda is you can say something as fundamentally stupid as what I said above, and she just grins and says "Really? Which ones? Have you met them? Were they nice?"
Um I don't really know if I fangurl people. I'm not sure what the procedure is... If there's a tutorial I should follow??? But I remember meeting mini, and she was the one who convinced me to join GW. So *hugs mini*. And should probably hug everyone else too....
That's all I have really.
At least you managed to say something lol !!
the 1st time I met her I was so impressed I must have looked like a total idiot. When she 1st came on stage I was thinking 'ok I can see her so she is really here' and my friend and I were holding onto eachother because, I don't know, I can't explain, that was surreal to see her. And she seemed so surprise by all the cheering, she was blushing it was so cute, maybe she didn't know she was loved in Europe too And then for the photograph, well I had misty eyes and I couldn't really speak and she hugged me and I think I managed to utter some words after that. I was so glad I had made my tshirt (see signature) to "speak" for me
See, I can't get over all the pathetic, petty letters people write into the uni newspaper So I decided to try my hand at a bit of satire... my friends reckon I got the tone of the average letter just right. And it got letter of the week, so I have a $25 voucher to spend at the campus book store.
Spoilers for off topic and language...

Dear MacGyver-is-a-god-lient
So, I just opened my physics notebook and found a half-read copy of Salient. Of course I paused to admire the photo of myself (I'm good like that) and continued reading.
To my dismay I discovered that not only did Food writer Jules Van Cruysen compare MacGyver to the usefulness of a kinky animal fat, his name was spelled wrong. The horror! This pretty much amounts to blasphemy. Give the guy a belt buckle, shoelaces and a piece of gum and he can totally build a nuclear reactor on your arse... some people just should not be ****ed with.
I am completely disgusted and embarrassed on your behalf. I would appreciate it if you would consider putting measures in place to make sure that the divine entity known to mortals as Richard Dean Anderson is never insulted in this way again.
Cheers,
Carter
Oh, like my pseudonym? I didn't have time to think of something witty and clever... I think I will stick with it for the rest of my time here st uni .

Geeky Sam was fun. She was OTT in a lot of ways, but on purpose. I do wish she hadn't ended up with Jack. I thought Geeky Sam and Geeky Daniel made a better pair. They had such a neat rapport. I loved their cafeteria scenes. And I really liked the scene where they get their non-disclosure forms.
A Tribute to Amanda and All Royal Elders of Samanda
"A seasoned woman is spicy", writes Gail Sheehy, the over-50-and-proud author of Passages and founder of the Seasoned Women’s Network online. "She has been marinated in life experience. She is at the peak of her influence and power. She is committed to living fully and passionately in the second half of life, despite failures and false starts.”
Amanda has not yet reached the magical 50s yet but some of us have ... and some of us are beyond that milestone too. Amanda, however, now part of the 40-something demographic, has begun to come into her own in many empowering ways: new projects, new professional responsibilities and titles, and what seems to me, a new energy, vitality, that adds even more to her beauty.
It's been wonderful to watch Sam Carter grow as well.
I couldn't find the most recent photos of Sam in S10 to use but this would be a lovely project: to show a collage of the many faces of Sam ... from her youthful look in S1 to her "marinating" through the ten seasons to a beautiful close-up of her new, mature look in S10. There is such character in her face and a depth that wasn't there when she first walked through the Gate.
That, my younger friends, is the beauty of growing older.
Great idea CG!
Here is my contribution to the Many Faces of Sam collage project.
Warning: These are huge. And when I say, huge, I mean HUGE. In fact I saved it at normal size and at 50% and the 50% one is STILL huge. I guess I just can't do small, eh?
Here it is... The Many Faces of Samantha Carter: Ten Years and Counting:
