It's so adorable to hear that she gets nervous too. that just makes me love her more! Maybe I should go then, you guys really are making me curious. I've wanted to go for so long but never really acted on it... then I'll meet all of you guys!
: Now you, you I would listen to if you were reading a phonebook.
Geeky : Oh brother... : See I love this whole sexy librarian thing...
Someone mentioned not long ago about how good Amanda was looking so here's a look from 3 different time periods, side by side.

One thing I seem to remember from somewhere, is AT attributes part of her very successful aging to being happy.
What is happiness? Is it an emotion, a state of being, a choice, a response? All of the above? Can you just put it on in the morning, like your makeup?
Are some of us hard-wired to be happy just like some of us are hardwired to be introverts or extroverts, Eyore’s or Tweety Bird’s? If it is an ingrained tendency, can it be trained or improved? Can happiness be a habit you form, just like working out and eating healthy?
Why, for the most part, are children and animals happy? Is it the ability to live fully in the moment? Or is it the inability to dwell on a negative past or an unknown future? In the case of children is it growth hormone, new experiences, no adult worries…etc…?
We all suffer the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”, but our responses differ.
Close friendships/ family relationships contribute to happiness.
Animals can help.
Things don’t make you happy.
Circumstances good or bad do not make you happy.
Healthy habits and helping others can contribute.
Unhealthy habits can detract.
When I have done overseas work, the happiest people have nothing by many of our standards. I have friends who are quadriplegic who continue to have joy and humor despite difficult and painful circumstances.
I love whoever’s sig says that by being happy you do the world many good deeds - I think it is true.
Anyway, just musing. I wonder about these things as I see so many people go through life's ups and downs.
Words have tremendous power. The right words spoken by the right people at the right times can lift up communities, transform lives, mend relationships, break hearts—even topple empires.

Beautiful reflection, tagger. I think that biochemistry does play a big part in the moods that take up residence in our minds but we can try to practice the "art" of happiness by being mindful of each moment and just living there, finding a way to accept the pain or the joy we're experiencing. Sometimes easier said than done.
Life is a gift, no matter the circumstances. How we choose to live our small moments will be the legacy we leave behind.
Shall I bless or shall I curse?
Amanda continues to bless and her kindness and positive attitude draw others to her like a magnet. Just sayin' ....
She's away this week and I've posted this before (ages ago), so I don't think Coley will mind my sharing again her jumping-for-joy moment with her trusty hound, Hugo! It seems to fit what we've just been talking about ... taking a risk, finding happiness, living in the moment ...
Samandans, believe in your dreams and seize the day!
I am so blessed to call Coley my friend. We met because of this thread. Amanda has been a catalyst and brought so many fans together who have then become friends because of her. Kinda neat, eh?
I didn't think that was a military event, but a government event to which Sam had been invited.
I don't know. It didn't look
Spoiler:
any more civilian than the later television interview with Julia Donovan, IMO.
Typically, units permit female officers who are being escorted by another male officer to wear civilian clothes at events in which civilian dates/spouses may be attending.
Wow. How absolutely revolting. (No offence intended to you personally, JenniferJF.)
The way I hear it the AT fans are just one big happy family! Just one more reason why I love her so...
Feel free to put up some more pics of the younger sam, I just love her hair back then.
What do you guys think anyway???
I guess it's not a secret anymore how old amanda is, but I just can't get over the fact how young she looks. If I didn't know any better I would've guessed she was half the age she really is.
BTW here are some from the early years

And she's hoping there's no corn field down there this time, either....
ROFL! I really want to jump out of a plane someday, but I'm going to make sure they don't try depositing me in a cornfield. That doesn't sound like a good landing site. Poor Amanda!
I love the picture of Coley and her dog. That looks like quite an adventure. It is very fitting to post that on her birthday!
Well, as she said herself, probably not a good idea to go for discount jumps!
Hmmmm... I've just started work on the Replicarter fic and it's shaping up nicely I love the fact that SG1 and so on only play really minor parts in this fic. It works so well It's like writing Sam but NOT! How cool!
