She couldn't join the Air Force period or she couldn't become a pilot? You need to be within a certain height range to be a pilot, otherwise you're gonna be in some trouble in the cockpit , but I wouldn't have thought they'd be turning away recruits for other duties because they're too short...
AD, that certainly makes sense, but it was my understanding she couldn't join up at all. She never mentioned wanting to fly. Considering all the times in biology class we discussed everything but biology, I think it would have come up. Then again, this was over twenty years ago, so things have probably changed.
i was at work and thinking about sam. then this question(s) came to mind...
a - what character traits do i/you share with sam?
b - what character traits do you 'wish' you shared with sam?
...
what about you guys?
just rewatched some interview and behind the scenes like things when some thoughts on this came to me
a - I love being with my friends in every second I got them around
I love bikes and love riding motor bikes
I'm quite scientific gifted (not too much but I get the most things in my special course)
b - I'd like to be able to show my feelings as Sam can and does
I wished I could meet all the guys and AT's "people" mostly every day (one time would be ok for me too)
I wished I'd sometimes act/speak/write with more caution -> as she does
well aaand mostly everything else. lol
Thank you SO much Amanda!(Icons by various great artists)
ROFLMAO...you really should put a warning before you post such a things...I was drinking diet coke and now it is all over my keyboard lol
BTW Maria nice cap lol, and like anyone will come up with something more funnier to cap...
Rules for hanging out in Samanda at Gate Gal's House:
1) No food or drinks. Good keyboards cost money.
2) Never allow children in the office while Samanda window is open. There are some things I'm not ready to explain.
3) Ignore Hubby's teasing about my laugh. I know he secretly loves to hear my Crissy Snow snort. (I only snort when I'm in Samanda. It isn't my real laugh. I swear!)
O.K., one last Sam thought and I'm going to bed. I rewatched Fire and Water yesterday, and I caught a heroic Sam moment that I'd never noticed. In the briefing room scene with Hammond and Dr. MacKenkie, Dr. MacKenkie wants to attempt hypnosis. Jack and Teal'c were both quick to say no, but Sam was willing to try it. I think Sam was the only one brave enough to face the fears. To me, that is heroic. It may not involve shooting enemies or blowing things up, but it is still heroic and noble. It also demonstrates her loyalty. I liked that scene. (I also liked Jack comforting her after the hypnosis, but I won't go into that here.)

That was a good scene. I saw Sam volunteering to try to find out more about what had happened to Daniel but also to spare Jack and Teal'c from having to relive it.

I'm sorry, I have a compulsive quoting problem
Actually, when my friend kept sending me droolworthy pic of David James Elliott, I suggested that we make a nice keyboard cover so that I was free to drool/drink without the fear of laughter.... all you do is buy a regular cover and then decorate it!
The average American woman is 5'4". 5'3" is not short. *repeats to self...I am not short!* The ironic thing is that if I buy petite length trousers, the legs are too long. *I am not short!*
I loved the mid-calf capri-length pants that were in this past summer. I bought two pairs of pants that I didn't have to have hemmed.
Did anyone else appreciate how in Mandy's Hathor picture, Sam is literally a head taller than the other three women? I had a friend in high school who couldn't join the Air Force because she was only 4'11". Bah!
*mutters to self...I am not short. I am not short. I am not short....*
That's my new mantra...I am not short!!!
We went on a tour through some caves recently...I didn't have a problem walking thru most of the tunnels unlike some of my taller companions who had to duck down quite a lot...so it has it's advantages!!
