Too funny! And you're too popular
Gracie
A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."
the thing is, two years ago, three in my part since i had my sub written in feb to have to sit on it until november when the subs opened, there may have been pltos that would have worked. but as they've sat and sat and sat there they get more and more out of date
if they don't want to accept them and stick with their close knit little group of mostly brits, fine. that's their right. but i think those of us still waiting for word deserve the courtesy of a reply.
refuse my story for pete's sake so that i can put out my own zine
At least if they replied, you could decide what you wanted to do with your story - I imagine that you can't post it online or offer it to a fanzine or anything unless it's actually rejected.
Courtesy would demand that if they have no intention of accepting it, they let the author know.
From "Blackadder"
BALDRICK: That's not what you said when you sent him your navel.
BLACKADDER: *Novel*, Baldrick -- not navel. I sent him my *novel*.
BALDRICK: Well, novel or navel, it sounds a bit like a bag of grapefruits to me.
BLACKADDER: The phrase, Baldrick, is "a case of sour grapes," and yes it bloody well is. I mean, he might at least have written back, but no, nothing, not even a "Dear Gertrude Perkins: Thank you for your book. Get stuffed. --Samuel Johnson."
Funny. I could've sworn I submitted one for this a while back, and it's not there. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the same amount of names are there that were there before.
Hey Cassie I just submitted one. Not showing yet though.. We'll see........

it's jsut be nice to have the closure.
after i subbed it i harbored the fantasy of them accepting it, but it's becoming obvious that they won't. The longer and longer it goes on the more and more likely it is that it'll be rejected.
I just wish they'd respond, and it's not just me, there are several folks that are waiting back to hear

If it was a case that the story was on the "maybe" list, they could let the author know that publication was a possibility but if they have no intention of accepting somebody's story, there is no excuse for them not to tell them that.
