Sam Carter/Amanda Tapping Discussion/Appreciation

Well, people are (NATURALLY ) very protective and possessive of *their* Samantha Carter. I dunno, at some point we just have to acknowledge that there is no "right" answer for the character. There's "right for me" and "right for you" and "right for AT" But a character that engenders *that much* (shall we say) passionate debate, is definitely one worthy of further adoration. Worship. Obsession. You know, whatever floats our own particular sail boat for one or two (or three or four... one and a half?)

this make things interesting....how boring would it be if someone say anything and everybody answers with "Yeah", "Yes", "Yep"......The cool thing is, that we all want and do see things in the way we like it and this brings us to such a discussion, which it the intension of this thread...so here we are, just at the right place!

Nah, Sam (going along the lines of the team dynamics that, in my mind, were horribly truncated after S8) will never be alone. As long as she's at the SGC, and as long as Daniel and Teal'c are on Earth, I believe that even if she never got together with Jack or saw him again (*sniff*), she'd be OK.

Nah, Sam (going along the lines of the team dynamics that, in my mind, were horribly truncated after S8) will never be alone. As long as she's at the SGC, and as long as Daniel and Teal'c are on Earth, I believe that even if she never got together with Jack or saw him again (*sniff*), she'd be OK.

Of course, she'd be just fine. She is Sam Carter, and Sam Carter is a strong woman who doesn't need anyone. But she totally deserves someone special (and not so platonic) to share her life with. I can understand why some fans would rather not see it on screen, and I get that some people have different opinions on who that someone should be. It is actually kind of fun that we don't all agree on this point.

We all agree on the most important thing. Sam's a great character and Amanda does a phenomenal job portraying Sam!

I thought it was a really interesting take on Daniel's transformation over the past few years. MS and Mallozzi have both alluded to the idea of Daniel having a dark side. Mallozzi specifically was talking about it as early as one year ago this month, I believe. Wouldn't it be cool if they had the guts to take a character down that route? Thanks for sharing!

But you're right...The Scourge had some great Sam moments as did Ethon. And although I had serious issues with Ripple Effect,

Other than that, there's a moment at the end of Camelot, a couple of cute scenes in Crusade...and well that's about all I can come up with.

If he/she's looking for anything substantive though, I think the moment in Ethon with Teal'c and the one with Woolsey in The Scourge are about as close as we got that year.

Anyway, yards of Jack/Sam posts in the SaGC thread, and you don't object, but the minute you mention you're not in favour of Jack/Sam on the show it must be because you want to see a different pairing on it instead.

Not really. I know several Samandans who don't want her paired with anyone...that's cool. Some want her paired with another guy on the show and some want her paired with another girl on the show.

Then there's AD who wanted her paired with a hot dog last year.

Don't ask.

The bottom line is we all want our Sam to be fulfilled both professionally and personally. Some want her to find that fulfillment with someone...be it Jack, Vala, Teal'c or Janet...and some want her to enjoy her life as a single woman.

But we all want what we perceive is best for her. Why? WHY, I ASK YOU?!??

i thought it was the only good episode in season 9 that i have rewatched..okay i begin to like the ori(in the beginning i really hated them) maybe it was also because sam wasn't there in the beginning but now i begin to appreciate them, and i'm even writing a fanfic with them in it
and i understand that she really changed the last two seasons but i have rather a changed sam then no sam at all

and that just my opinion about the last season with sam..

Jacob wouldn't be the only one unhappy! I don't think there's a Sam fan on the planet who would have liked that pairing. Wrong on many levels....

There are a lot of Sam fans out there. Who knows?

Heck, I still live in hope that they'll somehow get Janet back in some form. IMHO, they (the show/the team) never recovered from that loss.

I totally agree with you... I mean as hard as they tried...no one could ever replace Janet...She was unique...for me she was a team-member even if she wasn't in SG-1
Dr. Lam didn't come close to that...She was just the doc IMO...as for Janet she was more than a doc...she was a friend, a team-member, a mother, a collegue,...
and well the interaction that was going on between Sam and Janet was awsome! they connected...and IMO there was something more than friendship...and I know I am a Sam/Jack shipper...but I am also a Sam/Janet femslasher... Cause I really can see the 2 togheter...

So I really hope they bring Janet back in one way or another...If it could be possible, she could also bring RepliCarter with her...than my day would be really really good
