which was really silly on my part, me of all people i know HATE what the media do to celebrity families....i was pretty mad with what they did with steve irwin, his poor wife knew AFTER the australian public..not that i m his biggest fan..but still they need a mourning period

so in saying this....i can understand why there arent many photos of her

AT has chosen to keep her daughter out of the limelight. and is helped by some rather strict canadian laws about children of celebrities

A Matter of Time is my favorite SG1 episode. I'm pretty sure I've said that a LOT here, so sorry for saying it again. But I just had to agree with Mandy here. I thought AMOT was an awesome episode. Yeah, Sam was highly featured, but she didn't carry the entire episode-and I liked that. I like when we get to know/understand/feel for the characters through the other characters, or in Jack's case in AMOT, through guest characters.

AMOT is my current wallpaper on both my computer and my cell phone.

mot was fun. sam saved the day. but you notice, sam had to FIGHT to save the day.

hammy didn't just 'ok, carter says so so it is'. she had to prove that her theory was right

the angst bunny in me couldn't help but notice that both jack and hammy were rather short with her more than once. jack's 'fix it', hammy's 'relativity gives me a headache'

foot hold and hathor will always be two favorites of mine

at thier most basic, they are the same story. base in danger, sam on her own to save the day

but i LOVE the animosity between her and hathor. something they touched on in out of mind/into the fire, but i wish there had been more. (just like i regret that nirti was killed off. i'd have LOVED to have seen a sam/nirti fight)

i loved sam acknowledging and accpeting the weaknesses of the boys - ie hormones.

                  with foothold, oh it's a sam/teal'c junkie's nirvana. such a wonderful relationship

in hathor, it kinda irked that the boys were going out and ignored sam and janet, but i did like in foothold how they kinda rectified that. harry acknowledged sam's actions

At least Hammond didn't ignore them.

Sam must be one of the only, if not the only soldier to get a commendation after knocking her base commander out with the butt of a gun.

And the line Sam said right after that? "Yep, I'm so fired," or something like that? Priceless!

If Sam had amnesia (sp?) and regained her memory what do you think she remembers the first and why?
Awesome question. I'm going to answer this without reading any other posts, so not to be influenced by all you great minds!

I think she would remember being in the military, or the military first. It's been such a huge influence on her life-from the time she was a child onward. Her father's military career shaped the way she was raised, how he interacted with her, likely where they lived and how often they moved. Her own career has been a focus of her life since she was about 18. A bigger focus for her than most men in the service probably, because she is a woman trying to fit into, or at least make her way in, a man's world.

So I think the first thing that would come back would be elements of the military-rank, protocals, mannerisms.

Unless of course it was some severe emotional reaction to something related to the job which caused the amnesia. Then the amnesia would be more a disassociative disorder rather than nuerological, and the military might be one of the last things to return. Or at least, the military might impede her memory returning.

she said 'yep, my career's over'

i have that wave on my puter. every time i get an e-mail, that plays

i use the zat sound when i empty my trash and whenever i plug in my usb drive jack says 'i think we should rethink this procedure'

i would think, let's say that it's a military issue, something traumatic on teh job and she lost her memory, she'd find herself doing military things without realzing it

like reaching for a hat when she walks in/out of buildings, saying sir, keeping things neat, little engrained behaviors

I think that would be more likely if she had amnesia for a nuerological reason-like a blow to the head. But then, my experience with disassociative disorders is limited.
