just cause the planet has fallen to origin doesn't mean that it's dead. hey, at least they mentioned a familiar planet
I would have liked specific names mentioned though, not just general planets. I mean they're friends, right? Wouldn't it make sense for Sam or one of them to say
Spoiler:
"Oh God...I hope Jonas made it" or "poor Warrick"
...Or something like that. Something to tie it in further.

WHOA. I knew I knew the names but here's who we're talking about here.
Spoiler:
Hebridan is Warrick's world! And Langara is Jonas Quinn's world! Does that mean they're both dead now????
W00t.
One of my favorite parts of the episode. We need more of this IMHO.
Spoiler:
I know! I hope Jonas and Warrick are alright! *cries*

Daniel got on the radio before Sam could, admitting that they were on board so that the Jaffa wouldn't kill the hostages? I was reminded of Insiders and was afraid that it was going to be the same scenario all over again.
On a couple of other things, I liked the Daniel-Vala exchanges this time. Much more toned down than usual. I was surprised that she didn't know about Sha're, and that conversation was well played by both.
Mitchell was tolerable too. I even thought the new Jaffa leader was a good character. Too bad he's gone.
Beam outs are still way too convenient, but not a bad episode.
Of course best of all, Sam got to kick butt and play scientist.
wasn't wearing a hat or any other disguise. She certainly would be a known face to the Ori, and especially to Adria if she'd been spotted in the crowd.
Love the look between Sam and Teal'c in the scene on the Odyssey-their shared realization that the weapon on Dakkara had been used. Loved the Sam way Sam gave Teal'c a little pat on the back at the end of the episode as well. I love Sam Teal'c stuff.
When did Vala learn to use a real weapon?
I liked the braids from 200 WAY more than these darn pigtails.
Like the discussion about Sha're. Glad Daniel hasn't forgotten her. Don't like the shippy music playing during it though. Not a fan of Daniel/Vala.
Look! It's the doohickey that makes the inside of the toliets glow.
The Tsun Zu/Dr. Phil joke. Meh. Carried out too long, I thought.
Go Sam! You just BE the one who can handle being alone.
(Not that sending her out alone really makes military sense.)
Go Sam again! You just give your orders, woman!
Oh for crying out loud! No WONDER the Jaffa spent eons enslaved to the Goa'uld-Teal'c's the only one with any perspective or brains!
Have tptb made the Jaffa our enemy again because fans really hate the Ori?
Teal'c was pretty cool in that fight sequence. Took him a lot longer to be brought down than it did Cam.
Glad the beam-out doesn't work all the freaking time. Still hate the darn thing.
Heh. Vala clicking on the radio to say "Oh" was kind of funny.
Go Sam! Order the Odyssey too! You're the woman!
The Jaffa haven't really matured much since their freedom, have they? And Honor doesn't mean much to them anymore.
I'm glad it was Daniel that admitted to being there.
Holy Hannah! Adria's eyes are creepy. Actually, Adria is creepy.
I like the Adria/Vala relationship. I like that Vala is so torn on her feelings for her. I would have hated her to want to protect her, "mother instincts" blah blah blah; would have hated as much for Vala to be hell bent on killing her. However, I also like that Adria is torn too. There are elements of a child needing her mother, but I also like the added ego issues. "If I can't convince my own mother, how good am I?" vibe. Very nice.
In fact, Adria doesn't suck.
I wonder if Earth is going to have to fight a two-front war now-with the Ori and with the Jaffa?
I SO love Sam rescuing Mitchell and Teal'c. I love kick-butt Sam. And Science Sam in the same episode.
Very glad the Dakara weapon is gone.
Still incredibly sad about Hebridan and Langara. But, I am glad they've put a name on some of the planets falling to the Ori.

Great post DeeJay...I agree with what you said about the Jaffa...

They really can be quite thick at times!!

I loved that Sam was the hero! Her rescue of Teal'c and Cameron rocked! I was worried for a moment that the fact that the shields came on and prevented them from beaming out was Sam's fault, but thankfully she discovered it wasn't. I loved hearing her order the Odyssey to leave. She was so right! They can't afford to lose any more ships. (I think she earned the right to command the Odyssey with tonight's work alone.)
Honestly, I didn't expect much from this episode. I figured we wouldn't get much Sam, but I was pleasantly suprised! I am worried about Jonas and Warrick though. I totally missed the mention of their planets during the episode. Maybe we'll get to see Warrick again (Jonas is probably too much too hope for) later in the season.

Ah...deepspace...honey...season 9 was released a couple of weeks ago...you can get it now if you want...no need to wait til the season finishes airing on tv...in fact...Kmart has them on sale...all the seasons including season 9!!
EDIT: Ooops...looks like AD beat me to it!!!
Thankyou both, chelle and AD . I really feel kind of thick for not knowing that season 9 is out on DVD here, usually whenever there's been something I really really want like Stargate or LOTR, I know the release dates months in advance! This is very unlike me.
I'm just glad I've found out! No more waiting a whole week on each ep .
Basically, I'll watch Amanda Tapping in anything she does. I've loved Sam Carter all these years and if Sam goes to Atlantis for a bit, I'll watch it. If Sam is in a SG-1 movie, miniseries, etc. I'll watch it. When AT does something entirely different outside of Stargate, I'll watch that. She is an excellent actress, and absolutely no one could play Sam Carter like Amanda. Sam is a very unique and wonderful (female) character that I have enjoyed watching since the first episode of SG-1.

I absolutely agree. I just hope Aus TV will show it
