I thought?Gracie
A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."

I've always preferred seeing Sam, the scientist. I enjoy seeing her working in her lab and seeing her get really excited about figuring things out or getting upset when she's clueless. One of my favorite scenes is when she and Merrin were building the naquadah generator and Sam couldn't figure it out and she was talking to the generator. I wish they had more scenes like that. I also enjoy seeing Sam work against the clock to fix things. Maybe it's because I prefer mental challenges to physical ones because I can relate to them more.
We may not all see Sam the same way, but I think that's a good thing. I still enjoy hearing everyone's point of view and I especially enjoy reading other people's characterizations of Sam through fan fic. *hint* We need more Sam-centric fanfic.

Re: AJ. From what I've read from soldiers in various wars, a lot of them say that it's not that they liked being in danger, but after a long time in combat, they sort of miss that excitement. SG1 as a frontline team is often in combat, so I'm sure there's a certain amount of adrenaline with that. But I agree with those that said Sam is excited about science and discovery. And I do like that they didn't make her a gardener. Part of the motorcyle tinkering etc. that I think makes sense is that she was the only girl in her family after losing her mom. I could see her working w/ Dad and Mark on cars etc.

Originally posted by ForeverSg1Awww, but see I'm in the minority in that I really don't have a desire to see Sam speeding on her motorcycle or doing something dangerous outside of work because in most cases the writers would probably have a completely different opinion on how Sam would behave in those situations so I like that they just give us hints and then I can just let my imagination go to work.
