I keep staring at that photo, she's so gorgeous in it (I know, all 'brides' are, but still...), one can really imagine how someone like her, back then in Egypt with the way she looks, her coloring and hair, might even be considered one of the "Gods" or something, she's almost glowing in that lighting. And I'm pretty sure the local population didn't see a lot of pale blondes with wide blue eyes. Wow. *sigh* If only I could ever in a trillion years look a quarter that pretty. Ah well. C'est la vie I suppose. That woman has so many blessings bestowed upon her, both physical and mental.
(And that necklace is FANTASTIC. I want one, too!!!!)

Spoiler:
she looks so pretty in that picture. i agree i think the neckless is great. so glad i read spoilers now.
...makes me wonder whether it's the AU geek!Sam or the AU trapped!Sam (pre untimely demise ) Hmmm...
Nice dress, though! And woot! That hair... wow.
She is
Spoiler:
strangely alluring in that photo, despite the 'oddness' of dress and hair. The dress seems more regal or ritual than matrimonial, IMO. And isn't her hair white? Interesting.
[spoilersold]Well, for what it's worth, I don't think this is the "wedding" scene. I initially thought Glenda, the Good Witch, too, but am now thinking it's some kind of Lord of the Rings send up. I vaguely recall someone involved with the show mentioning Lord of the Rings in a running list of vignettes, but there have been so many interviews that I don't quite know where it might have been. Also, I saw this about a week ago: http://forums.delphiforums.com/ourst...s?msg=7964.511
But who knows, really? I think just about anything is possible (or probable) in 200.[/spoilersold]
Spoilers for 200 on request. Only a quick translation, I'm afraid, but most of it is quoted from other sources anyway, to be fair.
Spoiler:
Summary:
Martin Lloyd asks the SGC and SG-1 team for help when he gets stuck preparing for the feature film based on his one time TV series "Wormhole X-Treme".
Details:
Richard Dean Anderson, former frontman and producer for Stargate will return for the hit series' 200th episode. This is what the US Sci-Fi channel has revealed so far. He will reprise his role as General Jack O'Neill - not only in this episode, but also in other season ten episodes and some Atlantis season 3 episodes. Anderson told his official website that he would appear in five episodes this year. This wonderful development took place during the filming of Rick's appearance of the 200th episode. It was then that the powers that be astked Rick to make more guest appearances in order to tie up loose ends.
SC-1 and the SGC are asked to be the Air Force Advisors for a feature film based on a TV series "Wormhole X-Treme". Martin Lloyd comes back to ask for help on the film following successful DVD sales of the three episodes of the cancelled show.
The team are reluctant to work with Martin, particularly Mitchell, whose thoughts are more focused on his next off world adventure, which would be his 200th trip through the gate. Due to technical problems, the team are forced to remain on Earth and help Lloyd. The Pentagon's opinion is that a good SciFi film about wormhole travel would be a perfect way to keep the Stargate programme a secret.
The resulting brainstorming session leads to a team discussion on what makes a good SciFi film. Starting with "Wizard of Oz" and "Star Trek" references about a young and unexperiences SG-1 team through to a wedding in which Gen. O'Neill makes his return, there is something for everyone. see footnote
Fans will remember "Wormhole X-Treme" from the 100th episode in the fifth season. When the team tell their ideas for the film, they maintain that the reality is far stranger than Hollywood Science Fiction. The role of Lloyd will be reprised by Willie Garson, and as Brad Wright told Gateworld "He's coming back to complete the circle. [...] We must now help him with his film."
Gateworld also confirmed in their production details, that Anderson's role is not just a small guest role, but a key role. "It's pretty funny," Wright said about the episode which the entire writing team have collaberated on. "Everyone of use have written a piece, and mine is the craziest of them all. Fans are going to love it or hate it. [...] Every 100 episodes, in my opinion, one should think a little outside the box. " And that's exactly what this episode promises to do. "We have one seen where we meet a 'Team America' version of SG-1. We're becoming puppets!
Michael Shanks says about the 200th Episode "I would say that it's going to be very different from Wormhole X-treme. Naturally we're going to take the mickey out of ourselves. We'll also be seeing an old face that has been sorely missed." (Michael Shanks on Sci-Fi talk)
Don S. Davies will also appear in season ten of Stargate SG-1 in his role as General George Hammond. It is not yet known in which episodes he will appear, but it is thought that he will be among the guest stars in the 200th episode.
Footnote: Interestingly, the word I've translated as "makes his appearence" at the wedding, can also be translated as "to ring in".

Your scenario was the second one I was kicking around in my mind. It just doesn't scream [spoilersold]WEDDING[/spoilersold] to me.

Wonderful post. I'm just taking a little bit to highlight.

Sam is truly a great character. She is a role model and a hero...someone people...young and old...can and do look up to. I find myself unconsciously striving to parrot her strengths...her courage, her dedication, her devotion. And I relate to her weaknesses. She's "real" as tv heroes go....
See, I think the way to use her is blindingly obvious. Make Carter the emotional center of the show. The one with whom the others relate and bounce off of like Jack used to be.
I think both Martin Wood and PDL have said that AT is the one they go to for reaction shots because you can really count on her to be showing something of what the character is thinking or feeling. AT has said that Sam has some of the characteristics of both Daniel and Jack. We've mostly gotten Science Sam so far this year. I'd like to see Friendship Sam in addition to Science Sam and Action Sam (and Leader Sam).
But it doesnt look like a wedding dress.
Its very beautiful thou, I think that is the most beautiful costume they've come up with. And AT looks great in it.
This is seriously peeking my interest. I hate waiting for new eps, drives me nuts!
