how does she enlist the Tok'Ra's help? I mean, by what means? It's been my understanding that those boots are weighted; if that's so, she wouldn't be able to walk very easily.
Ah, well, at least the Tok'Ra can live long and prosper in fanfic.
Okay, how about:
Spoiler:
Sam has done something dangerous and foolhardy and is slowly approaching the ship, but it soon becomes obvious to her that her plan will fail - ANGST!
But then she sees something snaking toward her, and it turns out to be a length of tetherline. The line is coming from the mothership, but, Sam wonders, who's feeding it to her? MYSTERY! DRAMA!

A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."
But the thing for me is that part of Vala is fun...the quirkyness and the "kid who says what everyone else is thinking". The mild flirting was fun to...but it was the CONSTANT sexual innuendo that got me...hence the "sex kitten" comments I've made.
I think on the whole we generally disagree - I know you are up for that waving your LOL stick around!!
As I have said there are parts of her I like, and not the parts the Boy Coop is interested in! But on the whole I shook my head in sorrow when Vala strutted into the SGC.
I actually don't really like too much the sexing up of Carter either. The scene in Chimera at the coffee shop made me think I was watching an alternate reality.
I myself have never worn anything which revealed my cleavage - apart from a swimsuit. Does that mean I'm not sexy or feminine or fun?? I can snark along with the rest of them just like Vala though - as if you didn't know!
Not seen the Mary Poppins comment but it sounds like a classic - that is humour!!

Yeah, the delivery just wasn't all that funny IMO. Mitchell came across as all snarky (when doesn't he though?) and nasty and Sam didn't look like she took it as a joke either. IMO it was a dig, not a joke between close friends.
Sam and Jack... Still the best romance on TV in years!

I don't know if I'll see it. I have the season 9 eps recorded for me, but no enthusiasm to watch - though everyone tells me the second half of the season gets better - especially for Sam!!

agreed but sam's reaction was priceless. absolutely brilliant.
I like the idea of Sam getting onto the LA ship, however: 1) she can't move from her position, so you'd have to find a way to get her mobile....,chews bottom lip in thought.... she... vents her own oxygen, creating some forward momentum, in a bid to get to an opening she sees in the Mothership's hull? Dangerous, foolhardy, perhaps, but given just the right context, it might be believable. Maybe the mothership unknowingly manoeuvers itself between Sam and the Earth ship Whatisname(I can't keep track) so she has no other choice but to take drastic action.
2) Once inside, she can't move in the suit. She needed four technicians to take it off her.... OW!... bit my lip a little too hard, there... Nope, I can't get past that obstacle. You?
i can. if she's captured, cut out of it and then escapes
as to how she gets close to the ship....spoilers for F&B
Spoiler:
there's tons of debris out there and physics dictates that the debris will keep the momentum it had when it was made into debris...it it's moving, constantly
sam is hit by a piece of debris, not enough to hurt her - too much - but enough to propel her towards the lucian ship. she knows how to run air locks, she does and gets inside and takes things from there.
how does she get out of the suit? she finds a sharp protrusion, battle damage, and cuts part of it and slowly hacks her way out of it.

Yeah the reaction of Sam was really great but than again I still didn't see that one coming actually... that just droped out or nothing that comment from Mitchell to her. I mean really!?!

Okay, debris going at the momentum of a violent explosion is gonna do a lot of damage to Sam-at-a-standstill.
Maybe you could have some passing debris venting atmosphere and Sam realizes that she is in the debris path. A harrowing time ensues as she helplessly awaits her impalement on the debris, but it misses her by inches. However, the venting atmosphere is enough to give her a push - a head over heels tumbling push? A slow spiraling push? And suddenly Sam is confronted with a good news/bad news scenario. Good news: she's gonna make the ship, bad news: ... what?

i dunno, debris pingponging would lose some of its force. be a bit tamer and less likely to kill her . or it could cut into her suit, let her vent atmosphere which pushes her towards teh hatak
Hey, guys! Please forgive this OT post. But there's already a poll about whether Dean Devlin should direct the Stargate movies and use Russell and Spader as the leads. There's a GW article about it at: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/0...outstarg.shtml
