NOt only that... ok they stories do look alike than the first episodes we got but also some things were never explained to us... they left us with open endings and as mush as I liked that in X-files (that was really nice, it fitted there) but in Stargate I do not like that.
I mean Cassie is the perfect example for what I am talking about... where is she? what happened to her? where does she live know? is she going to college? ... I mean she is an important role in Sam's life so... why did we not get to see that? In season 8 we get Sam's whole personal life with Pete and everything but nothing about Cassie. They really could have write that in. I mean we did get a lot of the story arc about her love life so why not about Cassie??

The thing is it wasn't just an issue with Sam not talking about Cassie. If you think about it over the seven years with Fraiser, she rarely brought up Cassie either and look at how many times in a decade that Teal'c has mentioned Ryac. I mean yeah if the episode revolves around those characters like Sacrifices, Family, Rites of Passage then we get to see what's happened to the characters, but rarely do they really show anyone even ask how they are doing. The thing that always struck me as odd is that we never heard Jack mention his parents at all and after Cold Lazarus he never mentioned or Sara again either. Granted seeing as they were divorced he may not talk to her anymore, but I would think since they really didn't divorce because they had stopped loving one another that they would have at least remained friends; and while Charlie was mentioned once or twice after Cold Lazarus, Jack never talked about him.

Yeah true... and there are a lot of them in Stargate. I mean little unsolved things that really should get some attention. I was thinking about Charlie (from show and tell), merrin and the rest of the children (from lurning curve), unas (from beast of burden), ... there are a lot of plotlines that just stoped and well I would like to see some of them get solved.
I also wondering how it is with Pete and Sam... I mean that break up was hard for them both. But how are they now after the break up? But that is not really something other people want to see. Also how is Pete with Jack (cause he is the reason for the break up so...)
And how did Sam handle the death of her father? I mean you see a little part that she says but she should have been really sad over it and that is what I like to see sometime. The things that make her more human and less of the one that fixes everything (and that is what I really missed in season 9)

Avalon was a big disappointment for me. I felt like we should have gotten more explanation. Everything was just different, and we were left with just speculation. These changes were major! I understand why AT and RDA weren't in the episode, but MS and CJ were there. It would have been nice to have one short scene between the two that kindof explained the months that the audience missed in their lives. We could have done without a Mitchell/Landry moment if time was the issue.

I agree. It was like a totally new show - a big disapointment and continued to be so I'm afraid
