In many ways it's like they're deliberately turning thier backs on 8 years of history and plot adn writing it off as too inconvenient to deal with or keep track of

what they don' t get, that backstory is what makes the show so interseting. it weaves a rich tapestry and gives fans something to sink thier imaginations into.

I think that they're turning their backs on some of it. I mean, they're obviously stealing plots from earlier episodes, they just don't care about any previous characters or the backstories. Why go for substance and quality when you can blow stuff up?

A large portion of Atlantis' past and future stories have been ripped off from SG-1, so maybe that's why they're pretending like the last eight years didn't exist...

Unfortunately, that's what happens when a show goes on this long. I love the show, and I am so glad we are getting a season 10! But.....

I don't think we have to worry too much about the XF problem on SG-1. AT would probably leave before she would let them turn Sam into a wishy washy character. I know their were some poor decisions made by TPTB over going to deeply into her personal life a few seasons ago, and I think that season 9's lack of real Sam time was partially about trying to repair that damage. Maybe (and this is just a theory, please don't shoot) TPTB took some of the focus off of Sam in order to rebuild the damage already done. S9 was not that good, especially the first 5 episodes, but it did get a little better in the second half. I think we even got some pretty classic Sam in Arthur's Mantel and The Four Horsemen. I believe, even after reading all the spoilers, that Sam will be very prominent in S10. AT's interview on GW implied that.

Oddly enough I believe the opposite. I was willing to "give" a little more at the beginning of S9 as they were dealing with 2 new characters. It's after The Fourth Horseman Pt 1 --several eps after AT came back that I thought the writing got irredeemable.

Amanda is usually very positive in print (not that I think she's lying).

The big question is is she only focusing on what makes her happy on the show and letting the rest roll off?

I know at my job I was very happy with the previous manager. Even though the pay isn't good and the pressure was on I still had a good time with the whole crew. So I was happy and willing to stay. And custumers came in to see us because we were fun. Now, not so much. And I'm looking. But not finding. It'll come though.

And that's all I'll say on this thread.

there was almost nothing about Amanda/Sam in it! A few pictures, yes, including the cute, snarky clip that Uber pulled for us. But nothing ABOUT Amanda or Sam.....and she didn't speak in the promo even once. Neither did CJ, by the way. How come????

Re: Cassie not being at Janet's memorial...

It could also be explained away by politicking. The SGC was under review for the whole debarkle, having a civilian minor on base would not have looked good, and just could have made things much much worse.

(and practically, the actress/actresses may not have been avaliable).
