Don't know if anyone has posted this, but season 10 promo pics are up at http://sg.emedian.net/ So far it's just ensemble pics (eight of) and Claudia pics. They've got a really nice feel to them this season, though. And plenty of Amanda goodness!

Yea, they're not bad, but some of the pics have been airbrushed beyond recognition, unfortunately. I looked at one of them and went "huh? Are they the stand ins?"

Just got a look at those promo pics - checkin' out the body language. Boy do Ben and Claudia look comfortable (and great) together. You can really tell they broke that comfort-level barrier a LONNNNG time ago. Not that Amanda doesn't look comfortable in her picture with Ben, but there's a huge difference if you look at the two.

Actually, I'd say AT has come off best with the airbrushing. It's CJ and Bridges that come off worst. I'm not slating them, I'm just saying they look far better without the airbrushing. And agreed, the background and setting is really, really nice.

I had a feeling they would be, after seeing what they did with the Atlantis promo pics. *sigh* I don't really WANT photoshopped pics. I can do that part myself

That whole scenario was a train-wreck and it was sad really, because the most real that the entire relationship ever appeared for Carter's character was during THREADS, IMHO, the most visceral, and it was all for the sake of breaking up with him, so yeah, they did that - and then they skipped a full season of any and all further character development for her whatsoever ...... and now it's time to take their collective writing-heads back out of their collective writing-rears, and get back to realizing ... there ARE CHARACTERS behind those space-battles, their names are not only Cameron and Vala, they have real struggles and real emotional backstories .... and we (the viewers) still CARE what they're going through (god help us) or we wouldn't still be here to begin with.

Frankly, at this point in time, telling us a few real stories about PEOPLE would be a frickin' nice change.

the writing for season 9 came off (to me) as someone(s) new to writing. all the depth and details that make a viewer snuggle up to a character...

i watched 'prometheus unbound' once (and will never again), but i could have sworn that vala had more of 'something' than the way she was written from the moment she stepped through the stargate in s9's premier and announced 'where's my daniel?' to the end of her 6 ep tenor.

when mitchell was first introduced, he was earnest and sincere and desperately wanted to work with the original sg1 ppl. after he got them back together, the writers wrote him as though he'd always been there with his cockiness and damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead mentality.

landry was alright to me, except that he allowed his daughter to work with him on the base (and allowed her to show him so much disrespect).

lam was a petulant little b*tch that should have been escorted off the base.

daniel was still daniel. teal'c, what little we saw of him, was still teal'c. but what they'd been through for the previous 8 years was pushed to the side.

sam... sam was brought back with a whimper. and continued as much. and all those thoughts and concerns and changes in her life that she'd been exploring/experiencing for the last two years were ignored for?....

so what am i saying here? what happened to the depth of writing? what happened to the ART of writing? what happened to character developement? what happened to showing a group of ppl working 'together', as a team?

the ingredients for a superb show are still there somewhere, it's the writers that don't know how to bring out the flavors anymore.

that's why i wasn't happy with the sg1 cast winning a 'spacey' for best ensemble... i'm not proud of this show anymore.

that small fic i read last night ('timeless) had more depth and feeling to it than the entirety of season 9.

Can we start a campaign for non-airbrushed photos? The promo pics for season 7 were awful! RDA looks like he should have 'Mattel' stamped on his head and let's just say that Amanda came with 'chest sold separately' (AT's words paraphrased, not mine!)

In these S10 photos Claudia looks like she's been photoshopped in behind Amanda and in the SG-1 shot Michael looks like he was wearing sunglasses and then they cut his eyes out of another photo and stuck them onto the lenses!

totally agree with you... I mean as much as I like AT on it... it isn't really her... I mean you could take a photo of someone else and say it is AT...

RDA DIDN'T HAPPEN, that's what happened to the show! He seems to keep the writers in check when they occasionally go off on a far-fetched tangent! If they're struggling for writers might I suggest Sally Malcolm be drafted in to write some scripts? Her work on the new novels was of a much higher standard than most of the stuff in S9.

Does anyone here remember Colorforms. You peeled off a template plastic "doll" and dressed them with clothes made out of the same type of plastic.

Even thou the promo. pics are very nice, that's what it reminds me of.
