She's the one who comes through the gate all rambo style with her gun out and everything. Later you see her in the infirmary getting checked up, and she's chewing gum and then later she's kinda standing around in that room full of Carters, obviously preferring to blow things up than discuss the science behind them

Hey all, just popping in to say I just caught the last two mins or so of a Star TV deal on Sg1, featuring for the whole 2 mins I saw, Amanda, WOOOH! She was looking gorgeously wonderful, and was on a Ship of somesort.

She had a bruise around her right eyebrow and was saying that she had smacked her head on some part of the ship and got a concussion... then went on joking saying that "I was seven minutes late, for the first time in ten years, and one of the AD's got soooo mad he chucked a radio at me" then continued by saying "But I DO have perfect eyeliner and that's what I think a scifi show is all about!" Or something like that, it was so cute, she was wonderful looking

she then went on about how she's married and now a mom and how that's changed her perspectives on everything, working full time and doing the mom bit too. She then spoke of how she was watching an interview from S1 when she was saying how she's laughed every day of the show and that that still holds true to this day. Of course a clip of her doing her giggle-thing was included, and it made me very fuzzy inside

I have no idea if this is spoilers or not seeing as I’ve no idea about any spoilers, it could be Season 9 for all I remember of that year, but here’s the filming bits I saw:

Sam, Vala Mitchell and Sg1 are all on some Earth looking type vessel, and Sam was saying that she radioed earth to tell them they were all coming home, then Mitchell commented something about “Well do they know we’ve officially declared war on the Lucien Alliance” and Sam said she included it on the broadcast.

Im assuming it was at the beginning yes... from the aforementioned spoilers it seemed very Beginning Of Season to me.

god, i just finished one of the stories sky recommend. that dark fic. wow.

i don't know what it is about stories like this (i'd NEVER want this to happen to me personally), but i just like bleak fics where sam's involved. i remember this one called 'shade' that i fell in love with, and it was about sam being a prisoner and being tortured! (i was terribly let down by the end, though. anticlimactic)

but anways; do others prefer dark/bleak fics or happy fics? i absolutely adore happy/shippy fics, but i also like looking into a place where things don't go so great and... but i don't like bad (permanent) endings. like sam's death. at all.

inspired by the fics i've read tonight...




sometimes when i read a fic, i might not like the way it ended or i'd like a different ending, so i'll add to it.

there was this one fic called 'alone' by alicat. spoilers for fic ahead, so i'm spoiler tagging it.

Spoiler:

it takes place in the first season ep (THE TORMENT OF TANTALUS). in this fic, though, sam and jack don't make it through the stargate before the gate crashes into the sea. they're left behind, with jack's lower half literally missing. he's dying slowly, so sam puts him out of his misery.

the rest of the ep is sam surviving and living alone. totally alone. and she starts going insane from it. she hallucinates seeing jack there with her. and over time, taunting her.

at the end of the fic -if i'm remembering some of this right- sam swims off to die. i think it was purposely. the fic made me cry.

my continuing with the fic, though, changed some things. more spoiler tags as to not ruin the fic.

Spoiler:

i had it that before sam swam off, she was rescued by daniel and teal'c. it had been years and they never gave up coming back for sam and jack. but they learned that sam was the only survivor. and they also quickly realized that all her experiences left her broken.

they had sam under mental observation, hoping that she'd pull herself around. sam admitted that she saw jack on that planet, even knowing he was dead. and she started seeing him again on earth. but sam was told (and i can't remember if it was daniel or janet that told her) that if she didnt' get better, she'd never get to go home. so sam pretended to be better, all the while continuing to see/hear jack.

she fooled janet, daniel, everyone.

i know that daniel figured out what was going on, and then told janet. i can't remember 'how' he figured it out, but...

daniel and janet come quickly to sam's quarters, afraid of what sam was going to do. what they didn't know was that sam had a gun. daniel and janet tried talking to sam, and that's when she brought out the gun. she also let it be known that she'd still been seeing jack, and that in fact, she saw/heard him right now.

daniel tried to talk reason into her, but 'jack' kept telling sam to come home. he was lonely and needed her company. sam smiled and put the gun to her head. and said she was going home. daniel and janet screamed as sam fired the gun. she was finally out of her misery.

but i kept going with the fic, seeing as i can NOT accept bad and permanent endings.

daniel and janet, especially daniel, become so depressed about all this, that they decided to try to change the outcome. time travel.

but this is where my memory of this idea starts getting fuzzy. i know that daniel goes back in time and stops sam and jack ever being stuck on that planet (hence them not dying), but i can't remember the details.

if i made it up now, i'd have daniel sacrificing himself to save sam and jack. then i'd take it back and the whole bunch would live.

i just wanted to say all that, since sky's recommended fic 'timeless' was still playing around in my soul.

I was very new back then to the internet and had just found fan fiction so i just delved in and quickly found out what nc17 means! (i'm from the uk where it's 18) anyway i found lots of lovely fic and was entertained in reading them untill i found "Alone" as i was reading it i could picture Sam's face (which is always a good sign that the fic imo is well written) was so stunned because she died, from that momment on i've never, ever read another death fic.
To this day that fic and it's ending has left a deep impresion on me that from time to time i do still think about it.
