(Please follow the link for the complete RDA text and photo.)

Presented to Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Don S. Davis, Teryl Rothery, and several key production staff personnel including Brad Wright and Robert Cooper.

Good for the ORIGINAL cast and for Legends for recoginizing who got the show where it was for 8 years. I leave out S9 because I will not saddle ANY of the ORIGINAL CAST (RDA,AT,MS,CJ,TR and DSD) with credit for THAT mess, that would be a disservice to the ORIGINAL, unique, intelligent characters that were the one and only SG1.
ok, this post is OT but its just something that caught my eye in relation to season 10 rumours that we've heard.
    Spoiler:

i noted on another thread that in the behind the scenes publicity shots/footage from the 200th ep celebrations that every cast member was in costume but RDA was not in an AF uniform of any sort.

there were rumours saying that jack is supposedly retired in season 10. i think this info came from a spoiler for an atlantis episode, but i found it interesting that he was wearing causual civilian clothing on set while others were dressed in uniform or what vala wears.

but in this picture which was apparently taken during a break from shooting, it appears that jack is wearing military dog tags under his black shirt. the shirt might be one of those like what carter wears with her BDU's or it might not, but those look to me like dog tags.

so.... what's up? is the retired thing just for the 200th ep special, and doesn't stick, or is he not retired at all or what the heck is going on?

i'm just wondering about the accuracy and further details relating to these "spoilers".

and now, back to your regular samming.

while we're talking about pics from on set in season 10 and the like, i also find it interesting that we've had the first preview pics from atlantis, yet nothing yet from season 10 of sg1. i'm wondering if this is because they know a lot of fans are unhappy about the lack of sam & co.

i'd love to see some season 10 pics featuring sam. might encourage me to be more interested in watching the new season. even if they were false hopes.

In the process of doing my "Sam's a rockin leader" sigs, I've come across many quotes about leadership that I think apply to Sam. Let me share them with you here.

      • Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions.
      • Harold S. Geneen

Sam has never needed to call herself"Leader of SG1". She carried herself as the leader-she inspires Teal'c, a warrior over a hundred years old to follow her anywhere, to call her 'a true warrior'. She steps up and does what needs to be done, in The Scourge for instance when she coralled the ridiculous civiliians, not be invoking her title, but by forcefully giving them the straight up facts. It's no coincidence that Woosley singles Sam out for commendation at the end of that episode.

      • A real leader faces the music, even when he doesn't like the tune.
      • Joseph Addison

Throughout her career in SG1 Sam has done what needs to be done, no matter how she might personally feel about it. She saved Cronus in Fair Game, despite discomfort with the Goa'uld technology, and her Jolinar induced memories of being tortured at his hand. She put herself through the painful memories of Jolinar brought out by the Tok'ra device, in order to save her father and Selmak. She went along with Daniel's plan to hijak the Stargate, no matter what the possible cost to her career-because it was a chance to save Earth.

      • A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.
      • John C. Maxwell
Sam has always been the best role model a young SGC soldier could want. She puts her team, and her planet first. She stayed in the mountain, in A Matter of Time, when Jack was going to set the bomb, even though her own part in readying the bomb was done. In The Serpent's Lair she's able to accept that she's going to die, embrace what she did to save her planet, with no regrets. Because her world was beautiful, and worth her life.

      • No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself or to get all the credit for doing it.
      • Andrew Carnegie

Sam has never been one to look for personal glory. She's ambitious, sure; she wants to suceed at her job, and no doubt enjoys the recognition that comes with advancement. But she never takes full credit for what she does, she never leaves out the rest of the team's contributions to their success.

      • The best job goes to the person who can get it done without passing the buck or coming back with excuses.
      • Napoleon Hill

Sam never tries to belittle her mistakes. She owns them, apologizes for them, and tries to correct them. She feels a sense of responsibility for what she does-witness her distress in Red Sun when she felt she was to blame for the possible destruction of that planet. She didn't try to pass off blame to the General, who ordered the mission, she didn't try the "I didn't know excuse", she didn't try to share blame with the Asgard, for their part in setting up the civilization that wouldn't take help when offered. She just dilligently and tirelessly worked at fixing her mistake. The same with the Replicarter incident in Gemini. Even when O'Neill tried to absolve her of the blame, she refused to let him. And in the end, did manage to fix that mistake as well.

      • You're never beaten until you admit it.
      • George S. Patton
Sam never says die. She fights to the very end, never giving in to what seems inevitable. Even when thousands of feet below the ocean's surface, in a room on a Goa'uld mothership that's quickly filling with water. And she doesn't let close calls shake her focus, and her ability to get the job done. THAT aspect of Sam is seen in more episodes than I can count.

Did any of the newbies win a Leo this year?!

What's the name of your newest fic? And where can we find it?! Look forward to reading yours as well!
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis were nominated for Best Syndicated/Cable TV Show.

Ben Browder was nominated for Best Lead Actor.

Claudia Black was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

Sadly Stargate went home empty handed and from what I have read the show didn't even bother to nominate anyone for the Leos. So unless they manage to do something spectacular at the Gemini awards this year, it looks as if 2006's Season 9 will be the first time in the history of the show where they didn't win an award of any kind. Which is kind of strange seeing as this was the best season evah!

Actually, in the Spacey Awards, Stargate came away with two wins. Ben Browder won in the Favorite New Character category, which was voted on by fans. And Stargate won for Best Ensemble, which the Spaceys people chose (as opposed to the awards voted on by fans). So Stargate has actually won two awards this year.

                                The Dream

                                http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y11...linarDream.jpg

I had a dream, said Sam
                                Extricating herself from a jam
Of wires and sensors designed to test
Sam's innermost desires while at rest

I am in command of SG1
Jack is gone and there is none
So well qualified to walk in his shoes
Than I, myself, the one he did choose

Even though I took short leave
I always planned to return, retrieve
My former post as I comprehend
Lt. Colonel Sam Carter, leader of men

For this I was groomed as I did my time
I covered my CO's six and kept things in line
Years of off-world combat as I slogged through hell
While watching my comrades, I learned lessons well

I stood up for the weakest and worked many a night
At computers and simulations to lessen the fight
Using brainpower rather than firepower in wars that had to be waged
Yet I was ready for either and not afraid to engage

I earned the respect of my comrades-in-arms
And gained admiration for my natural charm
No matter what happened, how low things had sunk
You could count on Sam Carter's spirit and spunk

So now I'm confused as I awake from my slumber
I'm attached to these wires and feeling quite somber
My dream seemed so real, it was who I had become
But in awakening I'm faced with a troubling conundrum

I wanted to be at the top of my game
But now my desires are sounding quite lame
There's a new man at the top who may be giving the orders
And I've been replaced, a citizen without borders

I worked and I strived to be all I can be
But somehow gender and youth are compromising me
I'm Lt. Colonel Sam Carter, past leader of men
How do I reclaim what now has been taken?

I posted this almost a year ago but it seems a good time to bring it back!
