As long as the revolt doesn't involve Madame Guillotine, I'm in - decapitations are icky and very messy.

If the scene between Landry and Mitchell is written according to my worst fears (the final canonization and crowning of Cam at Sam's expense) then it will probably be the last straw for me. I won't be interested in watching such a farce any longer.

Congrats to you and Astro for making the "2000 Club"!
If I don't like the scene between Cam and Landry, I've decided to rewrite it to suit my preferences and declare it canon.

TPTB seem to be aware that Cam hasn't been universally welcomed as leader but my fear is that they will try to make him acceptable by forcing all other characters to pimp him as the greatest leader ever; Landry will pat his head, tell him what a good boy he is and scold SG-1 for being difficult, Jack will endorse him as a worthy successor to him (ignoring the fact that the officer he trained and groomed for command has been displaced) and Sam will refuse any suggestion that she should lead, insisting that Mitchell is the best choice.

I can pretty much guarantee that there will be no canonization of Cam in any story I write.

Regan, I think you should be writing for the show already. You have a better sense of how things should be than TPTB.

If all the others try to make him look like the greatest leader ever, I will probably be sick. Someone should really market those buckets mentioned a few pages back.

I would hope when Jack comes back, he'll have a thing or two to say about the command issue. He prepared Sam to be a leader and gave her the opportunity in S8. TPTB just really messed up when AT was on maternity leave. They came up with a story full of holes to cover her absence and it really shows.

Just get an ordinary bucket and stick pictures of what you dislike about Season Ten on it - on the inside, so that when the bucket is used... you get the idea.

The Jack we know would have a thing or two or twenty to say about the current command structure and Mitchell's ears would be burning by the time Jack had given his unvarnished opinion of him and his antics, so much so that he wouldn't even be able to hear Jack order him off SG-1.

I refuse to believe that putting Mitchell in command was Jack's idea. He didn't expect him to ask to be on SG-1, but whoever authorized the offer of any post Mitchell wanted (coincidentally enough, this person is a close friend of Mitchell's dad) authorized placing him on the team. Jack agreed to give him a chance on the team but had no intention of letting him lead it. Landry took command and Sam was conveniently transferred elsewhere in time for Mitchell's arrival (on the orders of General Magwitch?) so when Landry found himself needing a new SG-1, he decided, based on Mitchell's "exemplary" record to give him a chance as leader. Jack wasn't going to backseat drive in Landry's command, so when Mitchell came to him, he encouraged him.

Sadly, Jack could well be used as a tool to promote Mitchell, even tweaking Stargate history so that it seems as though command passed straight from Jack to Mitchell.

i agree with u. just a shame we wont get to see that in season 10, cause it would be great to hear what jack thinks of the situation, i dont think mitchell would be please with jack thinks of him being in charge of sg1.

You know, if TPTB stayed true to Jack's character, he would be ranting at Mitchell like he did the officers he was training in Proving Groud. There's no doubt in my mind.

I think MandySG1's story "Repercussions" does a really good job of capturing Jack's (our Jack, not brainless clone Jack who will be used to endorse Mitchell) reaction to Mitchell's antics in Season Nine.

I hope that when RDA is there doing his episodes, he doesn't bend to the will of TPTB. The man's got power around there, and I'd hope they would listen to what he had to say. In my opinion, the show didn't start going downhill until he left; his presence does make a difference.

It depends on whether or not RDA is aware of some of the feelings against Mitchell being in command, and on how he himself sees the situation.

Everyone seemed happier before rda left. The fans, the actors, the characters. I'm not sure about TPTB, it seems to me from reading a few random posts here that Rob Cooper is largely responsible for the downgrading of the show. Just for the record, is it the general concensus of the majority of like-minded, disgruntled fans such as myself that RCC is the RL equivalent of Ba'al and is succeeding in running the show into the ground or is it a combination of TPTB? The outward appearance at the moment seems to me to be a case of fanboys left at home while the parents go away for the weekend and they end up making a huge mess of the house. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Sam and Jack... Still the best romance on TV in years!

Heal and Hurt is down to the final two. You can cast two votes in an update, so if we all heal Sam twice, she could win before the day is out.
