I heard Amanda had a bike too... I wonder what it is... yo Amanda any chance you could mention that in an interview or something? Inquiring minds who ought mind their own business want to know

I may be wrong in my assumption here, but I could have sworn I read somewhere that Amanda owned a motorcycle. I thought she said that during The Curse scene when she was working on the Indian she really wanted to take it out for a spin, but the owner of the motorcycle wouldn't even let her sit on it.
I know there are many things that the actors can't do. Amanda has said she's had to give up certain things and isn't suppose to do things like white water rafting (though she does it anyway). And I recall Joe Flanigan saying he had to give up mountain climbing.
Didn't Amanda say that she did all the horse back riding in Emancipation? I know she has experience riding a horse, but how is sitting on a motorcycle any more dangerous than riding a horse? I just don't understand that concept.
I would just like to point out that nowhere in my questions do I ask for any disparaging remarks about her costars. My questions are substantive ones dealing with the aspects of the character - ones that have been around for most of the "Decade With Sam" and we have not seen them developed or even mentioned in the past several years but all of a sudden they are selling point for other characters - I would genuinely like to know if she would addres this with her own thoughts on her characters history and future.
Perhaps rewording of the second question as:
Are there any aspects of Carter's past that are still uniquely Carter's that we will see Carter using in S10 - such as any of the abilities experiences from Jolinar, like the healing device, etc., or her pentient for motorcycles which was defined in "The Curse" and highlighted in "Space Race"? Seems pretty inoffensive to me and no disparaging remarks were heard.
KAWALSKY: I think what the Colonel is saying is... have you ever pulled out of a simulated bombing run in an F-16 at 8-plus Gs?
CARTER: Yes.
____________
does this, coupled with the logging over 100 hours bit count as evidence that she's a pilot? or could this mean she did something else too? (not snarky or sarcastic, i'm actually asking)
its evidence. not conclusive. i'm rather touchy on this subject, those damn no women pilot rules, so i ATTEMPT to keep myself in check. she doesn't HAVE to be a pilot. at least not one exprienced enough to be worth anything in an X-302. i dunno. rather not give a definitive answer and risk some kind of liability.

An F16 is a Falcon actually and like the F15 Eagle can be a one or two seater depending on the model. So It's still open as to whether Sam is a pilot or 2nd seat. This is just from memory, I'm not at home this weekend so I don't have all my neat bookmarks to quickly check stuff out.
God, Bink, I was sooo angry when I first read that spoiler, too.
Spoiler:
I asked this on the rage thread, but I'll say it again here too... what the heck are they smokin' up there?? We've been teased and taunted with the fact that Sam Carter is motorcycle driving, motorcycle owning, motorcycle lovin' EXPERT for.... YEARS ... and now we FINALLY get a motorcycle scene, and it's... CAM ? [B]
EXQUEEZE ME? How does that NOT smack of male-hero stereotyping? How does that NOT smack of contrived?!
[... than anything remotely real for Sam. And frankly? That really BAKES MY NOODLE on Sam's behalf.

I was spitting nails when I first read it and still am. The whole thing is BS and that is what TPRTS do best these days . . . shovel BS. I've pretty much had it. It is as if they have pretty much wiped the slate clean of any history that Carter had except the exposition girl crapola and that is not why I watched the show - sorry I never really watch anything just because of an actor or actress unless it is a quality show with some substance behind it and I stop watching when the show itself has dropped in quality especially when it drops to an all time low and sadly that point has come for me for SG1 and seems as it will continue to tumble in S10.
I like to think that since SG hasn't really shown any of the outward discrimination against women in the field that the RL military has, that perhaps that rule doesn't exist in the SG universe, and thus Sam could have been a fighter pilot at the time
That being said, I think I read somewhere about women fighter pilots in the Gulf... but I can't remember where.

officially there may not have been any female pilots allowed in combat at that time. but why would she be put on a front line team, a special ops front line team for that matter without possessing both the brains and the brawn that would qualify her for that position? and not only was she put on the team, but she managed to follow procedure, and do the job well.
thats how i reason it out with myself.
(now i know the military experts on the thread will likely come in and say, "but...". bah! its a tv show. in RL as far as we know, there were no female combat pilots allowed in the gulf, and there is no stargate. but in sci fi....)

how about the fact that she flew in "covenant"? does that count?
Sam and Jack are both in the Air Force. I've seen both Jack and Sam fly front seat. In my little world, they are both pilots despite any mixed signals we may be getting.

the B is. that was my big nitpick (oxymoron, you say? yes, indeed i am). i'd have to decide whether she 'pulled it up' or whether she was in the rear cockpit AS it got pulled up, or hell, whether she was in the forward with her instructor in the back. and i hate decisions.
I keep thinking that AT / RDA event has to be to advertise or promote something... so I'm with Ooobs. Ya never know. And if there's Sam/Jack in the offing... SWEET.
