Me too. And I really liked that
    Spoiler:
Sam and Daniel put their heads together to solve something, like they did in the old days. It's this type of thing that I really miss from the show and I wish we'd see more of it. Though I'm not too optimistic with S10 on the horizon...

Pretty good episode in my opinion...
I think I said this before, but I agree that Arthur's Mantle was almost hearkening back to the good old days. I fear that we may never see that again. I was not really crazy about any episodes in S9, but if I have to pick a favorite, it would be that one. Plus Dr. Lee's antics cracked me up too.

I totally agree with Daniel and Kallesta says that she gives Taylor 100 points so there ya have it. I think poor Sam is just wasting her mone on the voting.

We do need Sam here on the show, and I hope TPTB realize that and keep her on the show for as long as it lasts (and NOT reduce her role or turn her into wallpaper ).
One of my favourite examples of Sam's selflessness is when she healed Cronus in "Fair Game". She has never been comfortable with Goa'uld technology and through Jolinar, she had personal feelings against Cronus but she was able to get past those feelings and do what she had to, allowing the treaty to continue and thereby saving Earth.

Likewise! And that is a cool sig pic. I incorporated some geology-speak into one of my fics, which was a bit of fun. Sort of hearkening back to my days as a grad student when I had to attend colloquia, do presentations, etc.[/QUOTE]

I loved the scene where Carter is the one driving the cool red sportscar!
Me too. IMO that was the coolest vehicle she's driven in the series (yes, I'm counting the motorcycle and that other car she had... in Desperate Measures I think?).

LOL... so cute! Let me guess, American Idol? (sorry if I sound dim, but I don't really follow that show...)

The two finalists for American Idol...although I had hoped I'd see Paris up there competing against Chris...but oh well.

It's just a silly caption folks!

But I loved that moment between Sam and Daniel...about Emmett leaving countless messages on his voice mail. LOL
Ah, I see... just ignore my last question then. *slaps head* That was a great caption though, lol.

I loved that moment too... kind of cute (yeah, I'm saying "cute" a lot here... lol).

She became a woman looking for a boyfriend rather than a talented, capable scientist and soldier. Sam is not a woman that needs a guy to feel good about herself. And I'm perfectly happy not seeing my ship on screen (because I don't trust the writers). I'd much rather the show be ship-free and go back to being about a team. Ship stuff seemed to stop this... The team seemed to always be being broken up... split in twos...and the nice dynamic was lost. It may just be me, but it drives me crazy when they split it like that (seems like Daniel's always stuck with Teal'c), and the friendships that I loved so much are gone.

I hope season 10 can bring this back, but I'm a pessimist by nature.
Again I agree with you. I may be in the minority here when it comes to seasons 7 or 8, but I felt that at times they were turning into "Stardate" or "As the Stargate Turns" with all the relationship stuff. I know someone else here said that she has a right to companionship, or something like that. I don't deny that. But when it's made such a big focus of the story, it loses me. I think there were times that they dwelled too much on Sam's uncertainties with respect to her feelings, and IMO it kind of took something away from the strong soldier that she's supposed to be. I know that she's not all soldier and she is a woman who has some frailties and likes to be feminine and have a personal life, but I don't like it when they focus on it too much. Every once in a while is okay, but don't devote a whole show's subplot to it.

I emphasize that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this is just the way I feel personally. I do agree with you fishyone that ship can endanger the team dynamic, which is why I'd also like to see Season 10 as ship-free as possible. IMO, that way, everyone wins because we can all come to our own conclusions about our respective ships... and we can always further things in fanfic.

Daniel and Teal'c would be a part of Carter's special offworld mission. Their mission would be gripping and suspenseful... dangerous and heroic. The Mitchell/Vala/daughter segments would be be a second (B) storyline that would tie into TPTB overall arc for Vala's daughter's character and the Ori (a little background character-study stuff about Vala's daughter).
Is this for real, or did you just make this up? Stupid question I guess... but I would love to see this onscreen.

I agree that the writers did seem to split the team up in season 9 definitely, but I think ship can be capable of doing that as well. I remember someone saying on another forum (OS I think) that Sam is no longer a friend to Daniel because of the S/J ship that was played up in eps like Divide and Conquer, Beneath the Surface, and different eps in season 7 and 8. I guess that's being a little extreme, but s/he said that Sam hasn't been a friend to him in ages, ever since around season 4 when the ship was projected more (or something to that effect). I don't know if I see that, but I think there were times that Daniel and Sam's camaraderie (I know I spelled that wrong... mea culpa in advance...lol) seemed somewhat strained from season 4 on (with the exception of some nice friendship moments in seasons 7 and 8). I don't know if it has anything to do with the writers promoting S/J ship or not, but the whole "ship splitting the team up" thing reminded me of that person's comment.

Oh yeah...Amanda/Sam ROCKS! Especially with that kiss!

Oh yeah. Definitely hot in here. And the best part about it, is the kiss just keeps going and going and going and going and....

                        Whew!

Geez, isn't Amanda a lucky, lucky woman?

Daniel and Teal'c show up together in Lost City, and then in Threads, it's Sam and Jack at the lake and later Daniel and Teal'c. But I could be seeing things differently...
Thanks, I couldn't think of any eps offhand that would support that notion, but I agree with you. Then again I guess I'm just seeing things differently, too. Oh, and I have one to add... I guess this doesn't really count, but I see it in Moebius Part 2 also, ending at the lake. And
                          Spoiler:
this is just my extremely unpopular opinion, but I didn't like what happened towards the end of the ep. I loved the interaction between Geek!Sam and Geek!Daniel in part one and even in the beginning of part two. Then they destroyed that by killing off Geek!Daniel, having Geek!Sam tell AU Jack that she was attracted to "our" Daniel, and then later saying that she lied. What?? I thought that was very unnatural and it seemed like the writers forced it along with AU Jack's comments (I thought he was somewhat of a creep) and the kiss. That just seemed like TPTB throwing a huge, meaty bone to S/J shippers... I guess since they figured it would be RDA's last regular ep.
But I must cite that one as well. I think it would have been so much better to end Threads and Moebius with all of them at the lake together, sitting with fishing poles, maybe Daniel making a snarky comment about fishing, prompting a laugh from Sam and some cute little defensive reply from Jack.

But, again, as Dennis Miller says, "That's only my opinion, of course I could be wrong."

Daniel's wounded, so he should go assult the gate with the others?

Sorry. I guess that was a bit of a rant. That just bugs me (and not even for ship reasons. That's just flawed reasoning in my opinion.)
Oops I didn't see this post before I did my little rant just earlier. Although I think I did add to it... I wasn't happy with what happened in Out of Mind either (though I think that might have been Into the Fire?).

She still went off on a possible suicide mission in New Order and the like. The only thing that got me with the Sam/Pete relationship that made absolutly no sense whatsoever was at the end of Affinity where at the 'crime scene' she not only accepted Pete's proposal but then followed up by kissing him.

Very unprofessional, and very contrary to the Sam that we know.
Yeah, that sort of bugged me too, with her saying "yes" what was it, 8 times or something? And then the kiss? It also bugged me how she didn't seem interested in Daniel's welfare at all. I mean, the guy had been captured, then zatted and was lying there unconscious! Later we see someone else attending to him and Krista. Whether you're into S/D or not, the fact is that these two are friends and have been for a long time. Who abandons their friends in such a way? That really bugged me.
