I'm still waiting for her to be decorated again. she got the Air Medal (3 points) in s2 for saving the world, which she has since done teal'c knows how many times, and Mitchell gets shot down in battle to defend the team saving the world again (which by the way included Sam...again) and gets the Medal of Honor (15 points)? no offence to Mitchell, but huh?!?

Hi Samandans!

Nice to know that I can consider myself a Samandan even though I really only lurk and have just posted here a handful of times. I can barely keep up with you all with just lurking!

But "chocolate" scene in Crusade is really cute!

I agree that was such a great scene. Both ladies were so delightful in that episode. And you’re right, there were many good moments between Sam and the other characters this season.

Although I have some (okay, a lot of) problems with Season 9, I think Sam has had many wonderful moments this year and I hope she will have even more next season. Some things I loved about Season 9 – Sam’s interactions with Cam and Daniel in Arthur’s Mantle, her reunion with Teal’c in Ethon, the ‘Mary Poppins’ scene in OTG, Sam in charge in Babylon and Stronghold (yay!), and of course multiple Sams in Ripple Effect (you can’t get much better than a roomful of Sams). As you can tell, I’m trying to be optimistic today and that has been a very rare occasion of late, so I thought I had better post now before I get all depressed and pessimistic about Stargate again.

Whoa is right! She really looked like a different person in that scene. Everytime I rewatch that I feel so upset myself for both the character and Amanda. What she must have been feeling to expand on that
emotional breakdown. Whew!

she had such a range in that eps. from soldier to grieving friend to ticked off woman and everything in between

the CMOH is quite often given posthumously because it's not a medal that they hand out like candy. It's the nation's highest honor. folks that get this, they get little perks like EVERYONE salutes them...even thier superiors. They get other perks and bonuses and little honorifics.

CMOH's are also not given out by mere lt colonels....the prez himself normally gets that honor.

I think that the writers, in their rush to promote cam and pimp him, forgot to google air force awards and do a little research....like they forgot to check that colorado springs actually has a zoo (chimera)

Unfortunately, all it does is open cam to more criticism than if they'd tried a little less of a hard sell.

Sam, for her actions, and Jack too, definitely deserve some really grand medals and honors...both of which, however, seem to be forgotten

and yeah, they're supposed to have a military advisor. but this is the same person who either allowed or was overridden on co-leaders and the mess that was lam and landry in the same line of command (nepostim is just as much of a no-no as fraternization)

And I'm glad you did change your mind about Sam. Personally, I think that if Amanda Tapping and Claudia Black can get some good solid screen time together (that doesn't end up on the cutting room floor), it'd be a real bonus to the show. What I'm hoping doesn't happen is that they end up focussing on the stereotypical 'sexual' elements of (either actress) just to bolster their "male demographic" ratings. Even as a Sam/Jack shipper, I'd still really prefer not to see SG-1 turn into a soap opera. And I'm none too sure about the whole:

And as long as they don't go the 'cat fight' angle with Sam and Vala that I've suffered, on and off, on my other favorite show for years (Until those actresses went to the writers and producers and told them to knock that nonsense off.) I would be so thrilled to see some scenes between the two of them. I'd love to see something akin to Death Knell, with Sam and Vala stuck, injured, on some planet and having to rely on one another to survive. AT and CB would rock an episode like that.
