You tell 'em. Jack noticing Sam's bare shoulders in Out of Mind is a far cry from "they're meant to be together."
*nods* oh, yes. Just like Jack's little, ah, revelation in Divide and Conquer, the various kisses we've seen and the *ahem* sidearm didn't mean anything at all.
Did Cooper really say that he had no idea what to do with the Sam Carter character?
That strikes me as very odd. For someone who is both writer, and the person charged with moving the show forward, that so sounds like an admission of not knowing how to do his job. At least part of it. I would be so embarrased to admit something like that.
Why would he admit something like that? Did he think it would endear him to the fans? Or that it would be a reasonable explaination for no further development of one of the main characters?

Who knows? Maybe if the S9 ratings didn't reach their projected high, there may be some PTB walking the halls and saying they have no idea what to do with Rob Cooper!

that's what AT said at gabit.
CB, BB, MS and CJ all had thier contracts but she had yet to get hers, so she went to coop and asked him if she needed to worry (ie look for another job) he said no, that they just didn't know what to do with sam
that's when it was mentioned that she could be split between sg1 and atlantis and, eventually, it was released that she was signed for 20 eps, but no one knows how those episodes will be split up betweeen the two shows

I know that is what AT said, but what does this actually mean? ---I have no idea how to write Sam, or we don't know how much Sam will be in SG-1 versus SGA? They had to put in her contract something about being on both shows. It seems that CB, BB, MS and CJ, however, will not crossover, so their contracts are not as complicated. I remember the interview with David Hewlitt and AT in October of 2004, and it was mentioned that they had planned for Sam to be in the season opener of Atantis in season 2, but AT could not because of her pregnancy. It seems to me that they have planned for Sam to go to Atlantis for quite awhile, and did do this for Grace Under Pressure when she could come back to production. I guess I'm just wondering what exactly this statement means. TPTB seem to do long-range planning, just like planning to have Vala as a full-time character since before season 9 began.
I know that I "observed" that she was in no hurry to let go after their embrace when Jack was brought back from being frozen to get the goa'uld out of him.
