Yeah, definitely check the hotel's policy on cancellations. I just assumed all hotels had this sort of policy until I took a trip to New Orleans in Dec 2004. The hotel I booked at had a 72 hr booking policy... meaning you had 72 hrs from the time you booked your room (not day of arrival as I had thought) to cancel your hotel room or they charged you a nights stay.

Airfare to London? Or airfare to Vancouver?
I can't believe I can get a cheaper airfare from Dallas to London than I can to Vancouver. I have to fly into Seattle and take a train/bus into Vancouver.

I'm actually going to just wait a bit for my flight to London. I believe British just had a sale on tickets where you could get a RT ticket from Dallas/London for as little as $250.00 if you flew before April. So hopefully they will have another sale like this as we get closer to Gabit.

air fare to london is running 6-700 or more. we are going to wait. we have several months in which to book

as to getting from seattle to van, may i suggeste renting a car and driving? even if you take greyhound the bus terminal is, well it was nowhere near where the best western was, i have no idea about the new hotel, but i suggest checking out your transport from the bus terminal to the hotel. just so that you dont' get stuck taking a cab.

vancouver is about 3 hours due north of seattle on I5, and seatac is right on the highway. navigating van can be a bit dicey, but if you're used to big city driving, you'll do fine.

if you do drive, if you need something to drink, get it before you cross the border. there's nothing of consequence between bellingham (i think that's the last big town) and vancouver
