So... NC was so clever, that I decided to follow suit.
Hmmm... NC went for a photo from her 'young and innocent' age...
So... I decided to go for a photo from my 'young and foolish' age...

And, yes, in case you are wondering, that idiot sitting on the edge of the exfoliating granite slabs that overhang the front side of Half Dome (it's a sheer vertical mile straight down to the valley floor)... yup, that idiot would be me! A much younger and more foolish me... and one who was is *so* much better shape! This is from my college days... when myself and a couple of friends simply took off at 6am "The Top Of Half Dome Bound Or Bust"... obviously, we did make it to the top.. and then back down again... it was a 17-mile round trip hike and we didn't hit the valley floor until sometime around 6pm that evening! My feet were sore! and my knees were like jelly!

So, there's a pic of me... *not* orangerated-out....

Can I just say that the Jacob Carter character is my FAVORITE recurring character on the show. I absolutely love how this relationship has changed and grown over the past six years. We have watched his stern treatment of Sam become increasingly more tender and endearing.

The writers have done a remarkable job of writing him into not only Sam's life, but George and Jack's as well. In the beginning, I saw Jacob/Jack's relationship go from one of curiosity and often animosity, due to the fact that both men held a special place in Sam's life, to one of mutual respect and friendship. They have an absolutely wonderful rapport together.

Carmen is an extremely charming and witty man who brightens any scene he is in. The producers couldn't have picked a better person to portray Sam's father.

Absolutely Correct! I was trying to take the top Sam episodes from seasons 1-4, but the pictures from Singularity didn't fit well behind Samanda.

I just wanted to thank you all for your kind words. To be honest I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I've admired so much of other people's stories, pictures, ect for so many months I felt compelled to experiment on my own, never imagining they would be so well recieved. You have all brightened my day immensely.

If anyone really did wish to use the banner as a means to display themselves as loyal denizens of Samanda, I'd be honored. As I was making it, I thought about each and everyone one of you: from the jelly bean discussions...to MajorSam and our Queen's favorite color... to the use of Astrogeologists wonderful screen captures, ect. I tried to make the banner embody all that is good about Samanda and this absolutely wonderful thread.

Psst (in a hushed tone) I hear that Major Sam looks like Amanda too ... sigh ... we'll never know though because that mysterious orange goo keeps covering her face ... definitely alien orange slime.

The good Amanda orange is transparent ... sure hope the Amanda orange rubs off on some of MS's photos ... hint, hint!

I knew you were a geologist, but this one photo puts your profession into fresh perspective. An absolutely amazing shot ... which means that one of your college friends had to be miles away at another summit point, taking the photo! Obviously you do not have a fear of heights. I love this photo!!

No wonder you love Sam Carter ... I can tell by this picture that you obviously have a lot of Carter spunk in you!! Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

Still LOL ... only a geologist would write "sitting on the edge of the exfoliating granite slabs" ... I would have written "sitting on the precipice of disaster"!

Hopefully one day we can have a Samanda Day where all the denizens
of Samanda can be together for one glorious weekend and spend
a few precious moments with our beautiful Queen.

I don't have a scanned photo of myself but from what people tell
me my daughter looks just like me at her age. I personally think
she's much cuter than I ever was.
