this newest round of fretting on this subject is do to someone telling me that sam and orlin *did* have sex together in ascension... someone's GOT TO ASK AMANDA about this at gabit!!

Ha! She doesn't know. The writers don't know. They just threw that out there like yesterday's trash and your best guess (or assumption - yay or nay) is as good as theirs. I vote for NO. What Sam and Orlin shared was a spiritual event, non physical. Transcendent.

Oooh I have to agree with Strix. Very good story with wonderful Sam whumping. I actually purchased my copy off of Ebay because it's not sold here in the U.S. The biggest issue is shipping it from London. Amazon.uk seems to charge nearly the same amount for shipping as it does for the book. LOL

Yes! I was surprised the shipping was as much as the book. I bought the first book, but I haven't read it because I'm waiting until I can buy/trade for the 2nd book (my credit card company doesn't like overseas purchases) that has detured me from purchasing the 2nd book. I don't know why I didn't think about Ebay (duh) thanks ForeverSG-1!!! Now there is hope that I can actually buy the 2nd book.

I'm with ya...as I've said, I wouldn't mind Vala as a reoccuring character, like Jacob/Selmak and the like. The only way I'd want her as a regular is 1) Sam stays 2) they get a really, really good writer to tone down Vala a bit. Don't want her to loose the "kid who says what everyone is thinking" bits, but the sexual innuendo needs to tone down just a bit. Sadly, I'm not sure there is a SGwriter who could pull that off and make it look good. I'm fairly sure that Claudia could make it look good, but if it isn't well written and directed even Claudia's brilliance couldn't save it, imho.

We all know why Sam's indispensible, why Daniel's necessary, why Teal'c is vital and why Mitchell is there (militarily speaking), if Vala were to join either the SGC or (somehow become a part of SG-1), I'd want her to have something vital to contribute, like the others, or I'd fear for the integrity of her character. Insubstantial main characters don't jive with the SG-1 universe I've seen so far. I'd like to see whatever that something is that makes Vala Mal Doran indispensible. Before that happens, I'll have a difficult time buying into her status as a new regular. Which would be unfortunate for me, because I think Claudia Black is an incredible talent.
