Kat, i know exactly where you're coming from. and, on a personal level, i think it sucks. I think it's rude to those that have been on the show for years and i, for one, don't care for the hard sell of cam

nothing against him at all, i know folks are just doing what they think is best....but it still rankles

and i do appreciate that folks want to express themselves. I'm just saying that, while posting here is a release of a way, it won't matter much. no one that comes here really gives a fig what we think or say

if you really want them to care - tehm being the folks that make the credits, let mgm and skiffy know how you feel. they're the ones that can change stuff. and, i think, they're the ones pushing the hard sell on ben.

So many well thought out comments! So many viewpoints! That's what I've always loved about Samanda.....diversity and tolerance!

With that said, I'd like to ask--who kept the mailing address for Skiffy? I remember that the executive who works with the show is Nora O'Brien. Jerin had provided Skiffy's address. Would someone please post that (I will if I can find it, but don't count on it this week) and the address for Bridge? Then, those who want to protest (and feel empowered) can do so.....and those who don't want to say anything don't have to do so. All in favor, say, "Aye!"

Good evening, Kingdom of Samanda! I've just skimmed today's three pages of posts to make sure you haven't read my news yet.....and you haven't! Cool! So, before I go back and read carefully the three pages of insightful comments (as always, here on this thread), the Royal Reporter would like to share something very interesting.

i too think that both ben and amanda are professionals.

which is why, as much as i would love to see amanda front and center, i can deal with it the way that it is.

I think that, had all this happened a couple of years ago, she would be doing her best to be in the spotlight, but now she has other priorities, namely a little brown haired bundle of joy....and olivia trumps the career hands down.

which is why, as much as we'd love to see amanda in the forefront, i think she's happy where she is. i think the boys at bridge are doing what they can to accomodate her and give her the time she needs and wants with her daughter...and if this means that we bet the cameron mitchell hour....so be it.

doesn't mean that i wouldn't love to see more sam...but until i can know for sure that recent events have been not what she wants, i can deal with it.

after all, i have 6 full seasons and 2 partial seasons of sam fun to console myself with

All great points. I've decided to look at it this way. BB is the male lead and AT is the female lead. There you go. He's a lead and she's a lead. Also, we don't know anything about the second half. She could be in it for a normal amount of time or a little less than normal. It seems to me that TPTB have really accomodated her thus far (as they should!), and will continue to do so. AT is such a professional and seems to be such a great human being. Didn't she comment on how blessed she is to have this opportunity to continue to work and have her baby with her? That's how she seems to be seeing it.

I'm just really glad she is still on the show and that she sounds like she would come back if there is a season 10.

Yes, but unfortunately it's Christmas morning and it looks as if all the gifts this year have Ben's name on them and that's leaving a sour taste in the mouth of many fans. Honestly I can't say that I'm jumping for joy that Ben has top billing over the other three cast members; however, it's not really something I didn't expect. The part that riles me is the fact that nearly all of the action shots in the opening sequence revolve around Mitchell.

regarding your above paragraph...

that's what gets me too. i knew that ben was going to be listed first, but *after* the stargate name credit. but those first few shots being SO mitchell heavy gives the impression that he's THE star of the show. he's not. he's an addition. okay, he's the new male lead, i can accept that. but those first few shots should have been about the entire cast. four/five shots of either the entire team, or just shots of action/stargate spinning shots.

it really feels like a slight against the 3 ppl that have been on this show since the beginning. and i was NEVER bothered that rick was listed not only first but above the title. because *he earned it*.

No matter how you slice it, a lot of the things they've done this year have violently backfired, if only by the (once again) divided fandom. Only this time, there are MULTIPLE camps within the fandom, all with their own preferences and issues. Even ship didn't bring this much chaos. Now you've got "Sam's Brigade," "Vala-Dictorians," (two groups who REALLY should find some common ground, FCOL) and you've got "Random Scapers Anonymous," as well as the various permutations of ships left on the board. It'd be humorous if it wasn't such a battlefield these days.

And yes, I admit, I have a tendency to be the first to unsheath my sword.

and you know, it's all of their own doing. why didn't they think ahead of what might be said... it's like when they decided to give sam a boyfriend. it was already a controversial idea to begin with, so why did they literally go out of their way to make it 'worse' by poor writing?

i liked mitchell the most in those first two eps he was in. 'that' was the mitchell i wanted to continue to see, but after the avalon eps, he started splintering all over the place.

there's just so many probs this season that should never have happened.

i wanted sam to be sg1's leader because they gave me the idea of sam being sg1's leader. so if they were going to take it away, show the why, when, where, what, and how of it. no matter what my feelings and thoughts are for wanting this or that to happen, i want sam carter to be treated with respect.

and even though we might be butting heads with other factions of fans, i believe 100 percent that more than anything else, they just want their preferred character to be treated with respect too.

i want to believe that there's a surprise waiting around the corner for us fans, but history... it just makes it hard to believe in 'them' sometimes. they've not only dropped the ball one too many times, they've literally thrown it over the fence.

i want to believe in them again. help me believe in them again.

Has anyone been keeping tabs on the current GW survey? It seems that the "not impressed" with BB is a minority vote and many fans have embraced the new guy.

i didn't want to vote because i didn't like their voting options. i couldn't find one that fit what *i* felt/thought.
