A poem about a relationship without shipping? Gargh, that's going to be hard! But I shall try. I'll watch lots of eps with them bantering... The problem is though, poems tend to be about feelings unless they're funny, and I'm not that funny... Wait though, starting to have an idea... Shall report back with a poem soon!
ok - I'm a Daniel/Vala shipper too so I wouldn't mind if there's shipping in it. but I LOVE this special chemistry between them
Right I finished it! It's set early S9 when Daniel was just getting used to Vala... tried to make it non-shippy... Anyway, here it is!
The Vala Invasion
She invaded his life
As though she had
A right to it.
Bouncing, barging into
His thoughts, his mind
Until her voice echoed
Around his head.
She broke his concentration;
She broke his routine;
She broke his glasses.
Everywhere he turned,
She was there,
Beaming widely,
Her eyes alight
With that alluring fire,
And full of banter.
Her voice was the
First he heard in
The morning, and
The last before
He went to bed,
Like some derranged marriage.
Not that it hadn't
Been suggested.
"Yeah! Let's make babies!"
Vala for the rest
Of his life...
Annoying.
Exciting.
Unthinkable.
Somehow she got
Into his head,
Pushed is every button,
Bantered at every opportunity.
She was vibrant, vivacious,
Taking every ounce
Of his attention.
And then she was gone.
Headstrong, reckless
To the last.
But her bravery
Saved their lives.
His empty office,
Once noisy with
Her constant chatter,
Now felt lonely
And hostile.
His work no longer
Thrilled him: he found
No solace in dead
Civilisations.
Somehow she had
Managed to make her
Absence as unbearable
As her presence.
Somehow, from another
Galaxy she still had
Control over him.
Somehow,
He missed her.
Eek it's a bit long isn't it! There just aren't enough words for Vala!

AWWWW I LOVE IT!!!! I so laughed reading it "she broke his glasses" xD this is so cool green
Hehe phew glad you liked it! I was a bit worried no-one would - first poetry impressions you know. Yeah, I just love that moment: "I found your glasses...!" *hugs*

Oops... sorry Integrabyte... *hides*
*lol* yeah - but I must confess I feel a bit sorry for Daniel. Suddenly being together with another person all the time can be really annoying - even if it's just Vala. Or wait, especially when it is Vala. I love her personality but in real life i need some time to rest and being alone. Finding a half naked girl in my bed which wants to play then is the last thing I need. But I love her so much. Just as you said - "Managed to make her absence as unbearable as her presence." - even more unbearable than her presence. She's like a drug
I was worried about that line - thought someone on this thread might object. But I thought that for Daniel this is how it would be - he finds her as annoying as hell and yet there is something that draws him to her...
Why is it that EVERY time I post something creative I clear the threads?

oh, I'm still there. maybe you should join the artworks-group http://forum.gateworld.net/group.php?groupid=113 because poems are some kind of art too. and there you wouldn't "clear the thread"
I love this poem - you sum up the relationship between Vala and Daniel very well
For me too. I saw this pic for the first time yesterday when I received my copy of "Shell Game" CD from Big Finish Company - the photo is in the booklet, I've scanned it today at work.
Who of you has already got their "Shell Game" CDs? When you're listening to Claud's interview with the earphones on your head, you can hear Claudia's son in the background
