Yes, re Moonlight, saw a few vid clips and the pics. Can't quite work out why they went with the fringe and the NY accent. Did they think CB's normal voice is too posh for a cleaner?

They probably just wanted "American" accents, and the actors give them what they want or they don't work. I know one Aussie actor who went into an audition doing a Scottish accent 'cause of the product they were selling and got the job instantly. Kept the accent even when he wasn't on screen, too, so they wouldn't feel like he'd defrauded 'em.

Well... I think it's more the "American film industry" as a whole that's stupid. Many of the casting directors are pretty locked into stereotypes, too and if the actors can't get past them then they never get to see the producers and directors.
