Hi! sorry if this has been said before...

did they say in any episode (and which one?) how long Vala has been a Goa'uld. (was it just a few years or several centuries)

I was wondering, with regards to her father, in Famiy Ties...

I think they said it somewhere in the episode of 'The powers that be' although I am not 100% sure. I should say rewatch that episode and if it isn't in there it will probably not be in any episode but I thought they said it when they were reading the charges against her... Could be mistaken though...

but well it can't be centuries since well her father isn't that old I am assuming a few years or so...

I can't find it, and it may not have been specified. Another place to check would be Memento Mori since she was in a brief partnership with Athena. It might be mentioned there or possibly in Intruders when she was speaking with Baal. It is not in her biography, but I did see that she was no longer a host for 10 years before running across the Prometheus.

For her father to be able to interact with her, I would think it was a matter of years that she was a host.

1) Vala looks like she's in her early 30s.
2) She was 11-12 years younger when the symbiote was taken out.
3) If her father is more or less human and ages like everyone else he seems to be in his early 60s.
4) He seems to think she looks the age she should be. I'm sure otherwise TPTB would have used the chance to make a joke out of it.
5) The sarcophagus makes you younger/keeps your age. The consequence is that after longtime use you age rapidly without it. That's not the case with Vala.
6) I'd say Vala and her dad haven't seen one another for somewhere between 15 - 20 years.

So I'd say she's been a host for 5-7 years.

Your guess is as good as mine, though.
