A) he was interested B) He was cute C) he knew about the SGC D) it wouldn't have lasted, he'd have been too overprotective and got on her nerves - it's perfect! I could totally see her dating Malcolm just because he was interested, isn't that why she dated Pete because he was the first guy that came along? I don't get why Sam found him so creepy yet Pete was totally fine - wtf?!

Sam knew she could not have Jack, so she didn't really care that much about guys in general. Yet, she wanted to have a BF and her brother's friend was just a convinient solution.

Sal, green for you! You hit the nail on the head. Sam is human and had needs like everyone else. It seemed like a logical solution probably at the time. She was guy-starved and time-poor and all of the guys had been with people throughout the show. As far as we know, Sam hadn't dated anyone since Jonas (Martouf, Narim and Orlin don't count as they never got past first base!) Let's face it, we know she'd been having non-PG fantasies about Jack and did you see those looks in Evolution? If it had been any other show... *fans self* there's probably only so much frustration a girl can take lol! Imagine having Jack O'Neill in your face every day and not being able to do anything. The poor lass must have been crawling out of her skin!

Also, I'm pretty sure with all of his years of dating the hottest women in Hollywood, RDA has got that Jack Nicholson-esque "Honey, I love that dress...on my bedroom floor" stare down! You would literally have to be dead not to find that hot, even if you were taken! No harm in admiring the view as any not-single guy who's seen a Scarlett Johansson movie will tell you!

So I just found another episode I missed the first time around- Citizen Joe.

Holy crap- that phone conversation at the beginning where they talk about weekend plans and his secret ingredient for his omlette That thing of Sam knowing exactly what Jack meant without him saying down to his use of beer- I'll admit it I squeed a little. I try not to but it was too great.
Glad to see they foreshadowed Kerry too- always thought when she and Jack are together in threads, where the hell did she come from!
Not as gone on the rest of the episode but the start of great- end of fangirl rave

Lmao! I <3 Joe. I wonder if Sam processed that afterwards. I mean, Joe has been seeing things from Jack's perspective. Which means that he's clearly been thinking a lot about Sam and Pete lol! How telling!
