What's going on with the reviews? I thought I had one due last week, but when I checked my calendar, my episode is still a couple of weeks away.

Are we having a little break between seasons? I think the last review was the season finale. I know I've got episode 3 and that's due the first week in June.

I'm reading a story about what happens to earth and SG1 after the Aschen have taken over, and I can't help but wonder what Jacob would think about all this if he knew about it and what he would do.

I'm reading a story about what happens to earth and SG1 after the Aschen have taken over, and I can't help but wonder what Jacob would think about all this if he knew about it and what he would do.

Pre suicide mission - Kick Jack up the arse. Bang Sam and Jack's heads together. Probably sulk on another planet with Selmak for a while, getting more and more suspicious. He'd never accept the gifts the Aschen bestowed on the human race without a large dose of skepticism.

Post suicide mission - Go after the Aschen, well, try, Selmak might stop him. Perhaps they would come up with their own long-term plan to get rid of the Aschen - the Tok'ra are known for their extreme patience after all.

Season 3 rewatch starts this week. I better make sure I get organized for mine.

Which reminds me, it must be a fluke how this worked out Samfan, but my second review, on one of the episodes I like best in the season, is due on my birthday, makes me very happy indeed.

Didn't they hint Earth either cut ties with the Jaffa and the Tok'ra, or the Aschen had them killed?

INTO THE FIRE

SYNOPSIS

While Captain Samantha Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson try to escape from Eskal, O'Neill is implanted with a Goa'uld. Teal'c, who left Stargate Command, seeks help on Chulak to assist SG-1. There he has an unexpected volunteer, Major General George S. Hammond


GENERAL DISCUSSION

following on from 'Out of Mind' this episode is packed full of action. Leaving where we left off Jack is chosen to be host to the Goa'uld. After Jack is implanted with teh Goa'uld Dr Raully revels herself as a Tok'ra operative, and places Jack in a stasis chamber in order to kill the symbiote.

Meanwhile back at the SGC, Col. Makepeace informs Hammond that SG1 have been found by the Tok'ra, and Hammond send several teams to rescue them. Makepeace fress Sam and Daniel who inform Makepeace Jack is now a host, not knowing he has been placed in the stasis chamber. Whilst trying to escape the planet through Tok'ra tunnels they are trapped by a forcefield. Sam goes back to try and turn of the power to the forcefield.

Meanwhile Teal'c returns to Chulak and tries to enlist an army to help free SG1, when his supporters are revelealed General Hammond is one of them.

Back in the fake SGC Sam finds Dr Raully and she frees Jack from the stasis chamber and Jack throws Hathor into the stasis chamber unprotected which kills her. Sam tells Jack of what has happened and they head back to the gate, where Jack approaches the Jaffa claiming to be a host stil as he says they believe he is. At that point Hammond and Teal'c come throught the gate in a needle threader and take out the cannon towers.

FVOURITE DIALOGUE

Teal'c: Firing the weapon will be your responsibility, General Hammond.
Hammond: Understood. What exactly did you mean by threading the needle?
Teal'c: Observe. (Teal'c flies them through the Stargate) Fire.
(Hammond blasts the tower)
Hammond: Yeeeee hah!

SAM/JACK

well apart from the look of obvious horror on Sam's face when Jack becomes host tot he symbiote, and the fact that Sam was reluctant as ever to leave Jack behind at any point, I think the main shippy moment in this episode is the hug that lasts forever. Some might say it is because Jack is cold, but to me it is a pure out and out relief that locks them in the embrace. You only have to look at the look they give each other before they throw themselves together andit says it all. They hold each other for eternity whilst Sam gets Jack up to speed with whats happening, and even after the conversation has ended they seem reluctant to let each other go and sit on the floor with their arms still locked before they give each other such a look before Sam helps Jack back to his feet and they head to their escape. I find this such a powerful moment in this episode, and its one of my faves of all time. The sheer look of desperation, and relief and the fact they just have to touch each other signals the start of where thngs started to get that bit more serious and the realisation of their feelings is starting to creep in.

SUMMARY

Fantastic episode, i love the hug, I love that Hammond has a moment, and its a great start to a fantastic season to come
