I would probably guess that a war will start. Think about it, first you have two groups with two different beliefs, and second now that the Ori are gone, if any bad things happen that Ori would have previously prevented or fixed those people who did believe will angry that they're gone. "Better" is relative and while not being controlled by a false god might be better for some, there were probably plenty of people who were completely comfortable with it and didn't care about taking part in daily prostration. The oppressed don't always know they're oppressed.

It sort of changes the perspective of what SG-1 does. While they had essentially freed these people from oppression, they've opened the Pandora's Box of war and bigotry that were previously kept in check by the Ori.

Sounds like a good idea for a future SG1 movie or maybe a new spin-off series!

Well how is it that when the Ori were destroyed the Priors were still able to fly the ships? If the Ori were dead, there would be no power to channel.

I was on Joe Mallozzi's blog and he said that the reason no one can bring in the Ori ships to deal with the Wraith threat in Pegasus is because they're inoperable because the Ori are dead. However, there was a period before adria ascended that the Ori ships still worked, so this logic doesn't work.

A similar thing happened after the Goa'uld were defeated, the Jaf'fa started warring (although the Ori did have something to do with that) among other things. It could have been season 11 or 12 fodder, if done right. It could have been awesome!
