Original Starship Design Thread

It's been a while since I've seen a ship thread on here. So anyone who has designs/ideas for battleships, support craft or fighters post them here. Common sense rules apply. I don't want to see anything like this:

"My ship will be 10km long. It can carry 300 Death Stars in it's hangar(or 3 Billion f302s and 500 000 jumpers). It's equiped with 4 million Trinity cannons and 5 Gazillion drones. It's powered by 500 ZPM;s and 5 black holes and 1 Hamster in a threadwheel. It's captained by Captains Kirk,Picard, JAneway, Sisko, Archer, Hunt and Keys. It is also captained by Vin Diesel. It has two A.I.'s-Romie(from Andromeda) and Cortana.
It also carries 1 million Spartan II super soldiers, 3 million tanks and 11Billion nukes. It's shields can withstand the combined force of 10 supernovas every second. It's hyperdrive allows it to get to Atlantis from Earth in exactly 0.00004 nanoseconds. ANd naturally it's main weapon can destroy the UNiverse. "

Well we have the upper hand then lol, i like the Halo related stuff in their to but cortana is now insane maybe she will steer us into a star lol.

I have a new contract(a challenge really) for everyone out there who wants it.

Design a hyperspace capable lightly armed cargo vessel based as closely as possible off of either the Russian Typhoon hull or the American Ohio hull.

Remember this ship is meant to be easy and cheap to build, it also can only use the tech that Earth has at hand now(so no ZPMs or other tech we don't have). Other than that have fun!

im sure a naquadah generator would be fine to power the make anything beam thingy....but NO we wouldnt make weapons because if you read it carefully, they'd only give us one that'll make food and drinks

But we are crafty little monkeys. We may figure out how to press the buttons just right so that we can produce the parts to build a warship you know like a section of hull plating.

Ok here's my revamped Shinobi gunship

Propulsion: Earth adaptation of the drive on Ha’taks and Death Gliders

2x heavy linear coil guns (for later upgrade to a new Asian designed energy weapon)

Defenses:
Trinium/titanium alloy outer hull and superstructure.
An energy shield based closely off of an Al’kesh’s shield.
Goa’uld cloaking device based off of a Tel’tak’s.

Ships of the Line:

Yinglong

Background:
Developed as a first step in China’s space fleet it doesn’t possess the hyperspace capabilities that the Asgard backed U.S. ships have. Thus its primary mission is to escort military vessels (carriers in particular) from one place to another is severely limited in where it can escort any ship. This has gotten the ship shunted into a system scout/orbital defense role. The Chinese government is pressuring the US government to allow them access to the greater power sources and improved hyperspace generators that will enable the Shinobi-class to do what it was designed to do.

The three ships that they are presently fielding usually patrol the solar system checking for any intruders into Earths “perimeter.” Though being limited to point defense cannons and no missiles does make it hard for it to take on threats larger than a Tel’tak without help from another ship.


And a new ship built by some non-discript aliens who are now extinct(and aparently spoke and wrote some form of german)

Background:
It was built a quarter of a millennia ago by a now extinct technologically advanced human society to defend them against another society which they were at war with. This war had been going on for two generations and unfortunately distracted both societies from the warning signs that their sun was giving. When the sun detonated a huge flare destroyed all ships flying at the time and burned virtually all complex organisms on both worlds.

The Matinee was a newly built gunship which had been recently put into an armored bunker with that world’s Star Gate and D.H.D. Where it remained for the next two hundred years until SG-4 arrived and discovered the ship almost completely intact along with ten short range heavy fighters.

For a start the window is that big
even with 3 cargo bays you still have 9000 cubic metres of space for everything. Thought that was pretty reasonable.

It's not finished yet but when finished should have 2 Ha'tak main weapons on either wing, 8 nuke torpedoe launchers , 8 MOAB drop tubes in the underside, twin ion engines, ABS, airco, and now a special rebate offer (batteries not included) Oh and it's about 30m long

btw, not the biggest fan of ONE: simple shaped ships TWO: i dont like cheese! THREE: it is a cargo ship!!!not a friggin battlecruiser...cargo ships are unarmed, if armed at all, it is very very VERY lightly armed....12 nukes...2 rail guns?that is half as much rail guns as a 304...and the 304 doesnt even have 12 nukes

Read the challenge burrows and if you can do any better then go on.
That is lightly armed. How in gods name is that a battlecruiser.
6 Nukes a launcher, c'mon would go through that so quickly it's not even worth the hassle. How do we know the 304 doesn't have more than 12 Nukes, they only seem to fire 2 at 1 time. If they haven't got 12 then what is all that space being used for.
