I think the Asgard are more concerned about rebuilding their civilisation from the brink of extinction so don't think they are going to build ships for other people. Besides...doesn't look good if the Asgard have to do EVERYTHING.

'Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all who embrace evil. In the name of the Gods, ships shall be built to carry the warriors out among the stars and we will spread Origin to all the unbelievers. The power of the Ori will be felt far and wide and the wicked shall be vanquished' -

Well well, I said I would write up something I've been thinking about for a long while, and here it is: C&C is expected and appriciated.

      Oblivion class Hunter-Killer
Primary mission role: Dedicated starship killer.
Secondary mission role: Deep Strike Bomber

Involved Partners: US Navy, Russian Navy, French Navy and Airforce, NASA, RKA[1], CNES[2]

Size: As small as possible to keep the current hyperspace velocities that the 304 has.

Design of hull: More like the 303 than the 304. The Oblivion class has forward missile tubes like the 303 where it stores its primary weaponry. Rear missile tubes are storage room for extra munition. The Oblivion has no hangars due to its dedicated role. It has two small pods for two Tel'tak vessels or four puddle jumpers.

      Power:
      Primary: Naquadria reactor
      Secondary: De-centralized Naquadah reactors

      Engines:
      Sublight:
      Four Ion Particle Accelerator Drives
      Inertial Drive System
      FTL:
      Asgard designed hyperdrive

      Shields:
      Asgard designed shields.

      Armarment:
High Velocity Small Kinetic Kill Launcher:
Launches a one kilogram projectile with minimal guidance systems designed for high velocity impact.

      High Velocity Kinetic Kill Vehicles:
A 2500kg(1500kg empty) guided vehicle capable of carrying several different "warhead" configurations. Just before impact the Vehicle releases the "warhead" and the Asgard Transporters beam the Vehicle back to the ship.
      Examples of different "warhead" are:
One tonne Solid Projectile: Meant to simply crash with target.
Cluster Bomb: Throws out 1000 one kilogram projectiles. Is meant for targets with exceptional Point Defense Systems.
Orbital High Velocity Impact warhead: Similar to the Solid Projectile, but has a smaller projectile and a shield generator included to withstand the extreme temperatures during reentry.
Orbital Cluster Bomb: Similar to the Cluster Bomb. Has a lower number of projectiles, but carries a shield generator to that the delivery system doesn't burn up during reentry.

      Point Defense Systems:
NONE! It is a dedicated Hunter-Killer. It isn't supposed to be around long enough to kill Fighters.

      History:
Due to the increased threat the Wraith posed, and the Daedalus class ships inability to cause any reliable major damage to both the Hive Ships and their escort Cruisers a new program was started. However, due to the obvious need for continuous improvement of current ships, as well as the introduction of new classes a more long-term strategy had to be created to keep the status quo with the publics unawareness of the Stargate and everything regarding it. The idea was to set up a front for the international organisation. The front was an international Lunar base, as well as a manned mission to Mars. This front allowed the included governments to easily divert funds to Earth's spacefleet.

US and Russia, along with France, the UK and other smaller European countries were the original partners. China weren't included due to their refusal of several key articles in the Statue that came with the organisation. Even without China's involvement this gave the organisation a much bigger budget than the 303-program had, and while being a 'public' organisation, the military's involvement allowed them to keep the necessary security.

The Oblivion class was the first ship that was built. Originally a US project intented to defend Atlantis, it was shifted to LMM(Lunar-Mars Mission) organisation. This allowed the US to keep building their Daedalus class Deep Space Carriers at the same pace.

The Navy branches were selected due to both the Air Force's poor performance in ship-to-ship combat but also because the primary mission of the Oblivion was very similar to current submarine crew norms.

The first one is scheduled to become active in January 2007, then two in 2008, three in 2009 and 2010 they will reach 100% intended production of the ship with five each year. Two from the US, one from Russia and two from France together with the UK, Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium and other European countries.

Japan is expected to start building one Oblivion biannually 2012. They are currently observing production and, when active, performance before they commit the resources needed.

The first Oblivion class ship, named Oblivion, is intended to roam around the Pegasus Galaxy destroying any Hive Ship it detects with a Hyperspace drop-out assault. That means that when intelligence of the location of a Hive Ship is confirmed, with the use of a cloaked Tel'tak, the Oblivion jumps out of hyperspace at 50 PSL and simply pushes out their main weapons at the slow velocity of 3km/s. The impact velocity will be 50PSL at which point one, or a few if the guidance systems aren't efficient ehough, 1000kg projectile should do more than enough damage to destory an unshielded Hive Ship. These projectiles doesn't have any inertial dampeners, so the Hive Ship will feel the full force of the 50PSL. Unlike the Daedalus it doesn't have any hangars. This is because the Oblivion isn't supposed to stay around long enough for there to be any time to launch any F-302s. For this same reason there aren't any CIWS-Railguns. There's simply no need to shoot down any Darts. The Oblivion diverts more power to its Ion Drive than the Daedalus does. This is because while a Daedalus is supposed to have their shields at full power for an extended period of time, the Oblivion is just supposed to be able to withstand bombardment for a short while, at the most, 60 seconds.

There are currently problems with the contruction of the Kinetic Kill Vehicle, due to it's complex nature. If this problem isn't fixed the whole Oblivion-program is in danger, since the ship is designed with this weapon in mind.

What kind of ship would we have built if we had actually gotten the Eurondan's data device?

Looks like a hybrid design between the Daedalus class and the O'neill class vessels.

Here's my design for a satellite:

              IRRADS

The Intergalactic Re-supply Repair and Defense Satellite

Purpose: Used to re-supply, and repair Earth and Friendly Allied vessels when they are on intergalactic missions and would be easier to be re-supplied or repaired by a nearby satellite rather than return to earth.

              Cost: $58 Billion

              Production Run: 3

Stationed: Intergalactic medium between galaxies in which earth and its allies conduct their missions.

IRRADS must be towed into the intergalactic medium by two Daedalus class DSC’s, and does not have a hyperdrive.

Features: The exterior of the Satellite is magnetized so someone can simply walk outside and make necessary repairs. The IRRADS has landing pads for 8 BC-304’s, however when there is a high quantity of 304’s docked, they may have to share docking bays.

Size: Approximately 2x the volume of a Ha’tak.

Power: One ZPM for the Ancient shield and 30 Naquadah generators supply all the other power needed

Cargo Space: 125 Million Metric tons

              Offensive Weapons: None

              Defenses:
              - Ancient Shield
              - 10,000 Ancient Drones

              Support Craft:
              - 10 Puddle Jumpers
              - 30 F-302’s

              Crew:
              - 60 F-302 pilots
              - 20 Puddle Jumper pilots
              - 10 Console Technicians
              - 70 Repair technicians
              - 50 Re-supply personnel
              - 1 Station Commander

              Other Technology:
              - Lantian Long Range Sensors
              - Artificial Gravity
              - Artificial Life Support
              - Magnetized Hull

bit of a fan wank in my opinion...(teh satellite) but give us a few decades and we MIGHT be able to barely make it

but here is my first thing, just be easy lol, not very good at the stuff

                F-310 Missile Carrier

Primary mission role: to take out non-sheilded enemy target(e.g hive ships)
Secondary Mission Role: Weaken Enemy Sheilds

Involved partners:US military, Russian Military, and UK Military

Size: about 4 times the size of the 302

Design: think something like the imperial gunboat from star wars
                http://hangarbay.tripod.com/missileboat3.jpg
just make it a lil more "earthy"

                Power Source:
                Mk III Naquadah Generator

                Secondary Power Source:
                None

                Engines:
                4 ion thrusters
Hyperdrive Equal to that of the goa'uld cargo ship
                inertial dampners

                Weapons:
                x1 Mk II 5mm Rail Guns/ 1000 rounds each
X2 Rocket Pods/ 20 naquadah enhanced rockets each

                Defence:
Standard Sheilds, can take a lil beating, but not for long
                ECM
                ECCM
                Cloaking device

                other:
                asgard beaming technology

Cargo: Small Cargo hold type compartment behind the cockpit, carries food water for long trips(just incase, and ackup magazines for railgun and rocket pods

                backstory:
With an increasing threat of hive ships being made more and more by the wraith, the us, russian, and united kingdom governments decided to make a gunboat/missile carrier type ship, about 4 times the size of the f-302, it carries 1 mkII 5mm railgun with 1000 rounds of ammo, along with this are 2 rocket pods that carry 20 naqudah enhanced rockets, each of pretty nice firepower, in the cargo bay there is 2 backup magazines for the rail gun and 4-6 backup magazines for the rocket pods, to reload the weapons the ship uses it's asgard beams to put the ammo in. once the ship is out of ammo, or unable to fight, it hyperspaces away or returns to it's main ship. 2 of these ships are able to succesfully take out a hive ship with sustaining low damage. the ship is very manuverable for it's size so the cannons of the wraith hive ships are rarely a threat. occasionaly one ship is granted 2 f-302(or whatever the current fighter is) escorts.

(more to come maybe, just gotta sleep on it lol)

                -mike

ps: if anyone could make a drawing or model of this, i'd love it, hopefully my description was good enough...

It was meant to be for like 20-30 years from now.

Only problems I have with it is the fact that it uses an ancient shield and has a launch bay dedicated to puddle jumpers.

IMO we will probably never mass produce puddle jumpers because we need a slightly different type of ship for our missions. IMO we won't be able to reverse engineer an ancient shield for at least 50-60 years and then it would be closer to jeri-rigging one instead of actually understanding it.

Ok, here's my two bits (sorry no pics!):

                        DS-300: Terran DropShip

Purpose:Simple, a small ship (around Tel'tak size) for landing and boarding parties.

Involved parties: US Military, Russia, and all "informed" members of the EU

                        Development Cost:13.4 Billion US$

                        Production Cost:1.8 Billion US$/per unit

Power:Two (small) Naquada Generators, one for Hyperdrive, one for others systems.

Capacity:Enough space (in memory) for 50 personel, plus two pilots and cargo space rivaling that of a Tel'tak.

                        Defense:Sheild and cloke cannabalized from a Tel'tak.

Armament:No true armament, but is equiped for the carrying and deployment of small mines and/or auto-turrets(currently in development).

Other Tech:A cross-breed between Asgard beams and Wraith Culling beams.
                        Asgard sensors
Rings to deploy mines and cargo, also as backup transporters.

History: After reading countless mission reports involving SG teams that either died, or nearly died, because they were trapped on another world without access to a gate and had to wait for Prometheus or another Terran ship to arrive, and after hearing the pleading of Major General O'Neill, the Chief's of Staff decided that the Terran fleet needed its own drop ships.

Thus the DS-300 line began. The Russians were more than ready to help, seeing as many of their own have died because of the lack of such a ship. The many members of EU who are informed about the gate were at first unwilling, but were convinced when confronted with soldiers who lost team members who could have been saved by such a vessel.

After reading the mission report on the seige of Atlantis by the Wraith (The Siege), several members of the Chiefs of Staff were startled by the efficiency that a lone dart exhibited in dropping large numbers of Wraith troops into the city. Thus they prompted the researchers to implement Asgard beams in this manner. Although Asgard beaming tech is not equiped to operate in this way, new data on Wraith culling beams has allowed our scientists to make some alterations, allowing the DS-303 to scoop up several dozen soldiers. Such large numbers are possible through the study of Pegasus model Control Crystals.

The Hyper-Drives were a give-in, all current BC-303/4's do not have the room in their bays for such a craft. Unwilling to rely completely on hull plateing and cloaks, engineers decided to use weaker, gould designed sheilds, in place of the now standard Asgard sheilds. In order to save space for larger memory banks engineers used two smaller generators. Each is around 60% the size of a normal generator and produces 75% the power, a net space gain.

The first vessel will be off the line in three weeks, unfortunately not intime for the pending Ori invasion, where they would surely be of great aid. Officials were hopeing to use the Carter-Bypass method to get past the sheilds and board the enemy vessels, or at the least deploy mines near the hull. However this has proven impossible, as the Jaffa recently reported that the Ori have an active super-gate.

Despite the production of nearly a dozen different ship models, increased trade with various cultures, and the use of disquised alien tech in ever increasing markets on Earth is giveing the Terran's enough resources to produce 4 DS-300's each year starting at the end of 2007.

                          Here's my first:

                          Name: c-305 light transport
Size: 25m long, 22m wide, 5.5m high (main fuselage only)
Crew: Six. All six are trained to opporate all ships systems.
Ftl: Compacted version of 304 class asgard designed hyperdrive
Main generator: Compact version of 304 class main generator
Defenses: Trinium Alloy armor. No Shields.
Weapons: Two small calibur rail guns. Primarilly for fighter defense.
Lifting cap: 210 tons in Earth standard gravity. 650 tons in no gravity.
Other tech: Asgard transporters, only capable of emergency evac of the crew

                          Backstory:

Its a rare occassion indeed when America's military leadership and Washington polititions agree, but one year after the launch of the USAF vessel Daedalus, they had found something to agree on. The most advanced military craft ever built, and it had spent the better part of its first year in service as little more than an overpowered, multi-billion dollar cargo transport working for an internation orginization. The military wanted its warship back, and the politicians wanted their money back.

It was decided that a new craft should be built to service the transport needs of the Atlantis expidition and the SGC. Four teams of engineers and scientists who had worked on the 302/304 programs were asked to come up with preliminary designs with only 2 rules. It had to be able to make the trip to and from Atlantis in less than 4 weeks, and it had to be as much earth designed as possible.

The first of the four designs, and the largest, was nearly 60% as big as a 304 and could transport 15% more cargo or personel. It used many of the same components, including the hyperdrive, main generator and shield systems as the 304, and was nearly as heavilly armed. Its chief advantages were its defensive capabilities, it was the only one of the four designs with shields. Its chief weakness was its complexity, it was estimated to take 9+ months to build at nearly the same cost as a 304.

The second and third designs were nearly identicall to eachother. Both were about half the size of the first design, carried no shields and limited weaponry. Though far cheaper than the first propossal, both had only preliminary designs for the hyperdrive and generators, ironically or unfortunatelly, neither of the two teams included a hyperdrive engineer and they had limited success designing the more compact version that would've been required. Chief advantages were a shorter production time, est. about 6 months, and cheaper costs. Chief weaknesses were the unproven hyperdrive designs, which would've required far more work to develope.

The last, and smallest design submitted, was discribed by one congressman upon seeing it as "uglier than my first wife." It had by far the smallest cargo capacity of the four designs and was estimated that it would take at least 4 of them to meet the supply needs of Atlantis alone. It had no shields, and limited firepower. It had only two weaknessess, its size, and apparently its looks. It had, however severall advantages. The hyperdrive and generator had already been redisigned to fit in the smaller space available, and with a lucky break, Asgard help to symulate the design, was all but proven. It was designed to be as simple as possible. Estimated construction time was only 2.5-3 months, cost was little more than twice that of the smaller, more complex F-302 fighter.

Its greatest strength, however was its versatillity. The cargo bay (which could double as a troop/personell transport) was actually a seperate, removable modual. What made this so advantagious was the inclussion of the designs for two more modules, one a medical/rescue and recovery pod with 10 medical beds and a single, limited operating room. The second a combat pod, with an independant power generator, a single, large calibure rail gun in the forward section, a combination bomb/missle bay and a limited shield generator, useless against capital ship weapons but reasonably effective against smaller enemy craft.

Ultimatelly this combination of simplicity and versitillity won out over its limited size and congress aproved the construction of ten 305's as well as several of the different modulles.

Few pics for ya. The design isn't finished but you get an idea of what it looks like.
