I really Really REALLY hate double posting but anyways I felt it was needed.

Stargate: Resupply
A convey of Phoebe Class Cargo Ships are about to jump into hyperspace with the support of a Morpheus Class Battlecruiser.

Ohhh I like this. I never saw it before. I usually don't care for the double body design, but this pulls it off nicely.

I also like the scene that you did.

Ahh I like this picture much better. Very nice hyperspace window, looks cool. My only suggestion would be to change the lighting of the ships a little. I'm having trouble figuring out lighting myself, so I can't talk lol, but I think more specularity and lighting might make the ships fit into the light of the scene a bit better.

Are the ships actually brownish gray? Or is that the lighting?

It'd also be cool if the hyperspace window cast a faint light on the space station and ships.

I do have a problem with lighting too, It seems that a yellow light on gray make them seem brown. I'll have to do some more in depth research into these things. I like it although I think that tomorrow I will redo the ships render.
Ha, you noticed the space station! I'm happy, I kinda sneaked it in there to fill up space and to make earth seem more advanced.

Why not use a white light instead? Have the sun as a primary light source and make it white, then build up other lights. RJB recommended using blue lights to build up the lighting, which I am yet to try. It seems logical though.

What using other colors does for you is add depth to the image. If you use 1 white-blue light and 1-2 yellow or orange-white lights you end up with an off white scene but also different areas of the ships would take on more of each color. When I have time I'll post a image example to showing what I mean.

For reference I used this approach in each of these scenes with orange/yellow or blue becoming the dominate color.
