      The question which once haunted my being has been answered. The future is not fixed, and my choices are my own... and yet, how ironic! For I now find, I have no choice at all! I am warrior... let the battle be joined.-Dinobot-Code of Hero

        This isn't a ship, per se, but hey, 'ere we go!

        Name: McKay Station

        Type: Military & Civilian staging point for travel to Pegasus, also, first line of defense against Wraith incursion into the milky way

        Technology base: Human, Go'auld, Asgard, Ancient

        Operators: Human/Asgard/Jaffa

        Naval Classification: Battle Station

        Hull:Trinium/titanium alloy

        Decks :27

        Dimensions: 1km (dome to tail) 500m radius

        Description: The Station is shaped not unlike a jellyfish. An elongated dome-like structure covers the most sensitive areas, such as engineering, the cores, storage areas, and also houses gate and sector operations. The tail encloses the crew and civilian quarters, labs, and recreational areas.

        Crew: Permanent Civilian Staff: 35
        Permanent Military Staff: 50 Marines, 25 Airforce 50 Jaffa
        Maximum Personnel: 250

        Craft: Carries a complement of 12 F-302's, and 4 jumpers

        Power plant: 2 Carter-Lee Mk-2 Fusion generators

        Engines: Station keeping ion drives only

        Armament/Weapons: 55 medium bore rail-guns

        Defences:
        4th generation human-adapted asgard shields
        Other Technology: asgard beams, go'auld rings

        Technical and Historical Notes: Following the epic defeat of the Ori in the early parts of the 21st century, the peoples of the Milky Way experienced a brief period of peace. However, the Incursion of 2014 cast a shadow over the galaxy. A Wraith hive-ship had transversed the intergalactic void, and had laid waste to four jaffa worlds. It was later determined by a scout team from Atlantis, led by Col. John Sheppard, that the wraith had located a mostly destroyed Ancient cruiser, and had been able to both adapt and develop a crude form of intergalactic hyperdrive.

        In light of this new threat, a second great alliance was formed. Jaffa, Humans, and Asgard took to defending the galactic border from any further attacks, but the war was just beginning. In 2016, thirty five wraith darts on a ballistic course from the deep reaches of the atlantis system successfully entered the atmosphere undetected. Showing some ingenuity of their own, the Wraith re-materialized over three hundred wraith troopers into the city. Intense in-city fighting ensued. In the second phase of their plan, two wraith hiveships hyperspaced in, using their new upgraded drives, reaching atlantis with less than two days warning. Atlantis, still in control of their primary systems, engaged the shield, but it was only a stopgap measure. Their ZPM was near full entropy. Help arrived in four days, in the form of the Alliance Battleships General George Hammond, Da'Kara, and Poseidon. They drove off the two hive ships, and delivered sufficient support to clean the city of any hiding wraith, but ultimately, they were too late.

        A wraith strike team had penetrated Atlantis Operations, and had stolen key intelligence. Among the intelligence was the design for the Carter-McKay intergalactic bridge, and Dr. McKay's program for successive dialing.

        Acknowledging wraith ingenuity, the military minds of the Alliance immediately set about increasing the fortifications around the gate bridge hub. Codenamed Point Zero, but known to its inhabitants as McKay Station, the newly commissioned station served both as a staging point for operations in the galactic void, but also as a layover point for personnel transfers between galaxies.

        McKay Station has only been tested once. In 2020, following the destruction of no less than four wraith hive-ships, in cunning plan by the newly promoted Brig. Gen. John Sheppard, the wraith responded against the gate bridge. Through unknown means, they deactivated the defensive shield around the gate, and attacked the station with seventy five wraith darts, all of which came through the gate. This coincided with an assault on Atlantis. The station scrambled all of its fighters, and although twenty-three civilians and every fighter pilot lost their lives, the station was held secure, allowing the battleship fleet to go to the aid of Atlantis.

        With a sensor net and patrol grid set up and maintained by a fleet of retrofitted Ha'tak vessels, Point Zero sitting on top of of the gate bridge junction, and 4 brand new Perseus-class battleships on standby, the Milky Way galaxy is now more secure than ever before. The question still remains, however, how will the Milky Way Alliance defeat an enemy that toppled the Ancients at the height of their power?

            Ok they're all great designs,

            knowles2 - your ships look amazing well done you've deffinately got talent

            thefather - nice station and history it fits in well with established canon

            fallen_arbiter - much better, sorry for having a go earlier but i think your ship is much more realistic now

            i didn't think it was fair to comment on just one thing

              Technical Details
              Spoiler:
              Power Supply;
              Spoiler:
              The Videum is equipped with a brand new power supply. The power supply (yet to be named) is a smaller more compact version of a ZPM. It does not produce as much energy having a lower output per second, but has a larger capacity overall.

              Life Pods;
              Spoiler:
              The Videum is equipped a large number of Life Pods. In the event of a system overload or ship destruction the crew of the Videum can escape using life pods. The life pods hold ten crew members and basic supplies. The Pods are sublight capable allow the ship to head away from danger. Each ship has a shield that surrounds the ship, it is too weak to sustain heavy fire but if required can prevent immediate destruction.

              Upgraded Engines;
              Spoiler:
              The Videum is equipped with upgraded engines, the engines where designed to work more efficiently with the cloak decreasing the risk of being seen. All engines emit a small amount of traceable energy meaning cloaks are not as effective. The upgraded engines reduce this be double feeding the system. This reduces the traceable emissions and increases the efficiency of the engines.

              Phased Cloak;
              Spoiler:
              The Videum is equipped with a cloak to allow covert movement. The difference is that the cloak can become phased allowing the ship to travel through normal matter without any worries. This however puts a lot of strain on the system meaning it has a higher risk of failing, which is why the phasing is only used in certain circumstances.

              Beam energy weapon;
              Spoiler:
              The Videum is equipped with a prototype beam energy weapon, it fires a continuous beam of energy at the target unleashing a devastating amount of energy, the weapon can only be fired a few times before it needs to cool due to the vast energy created.

              History

              Spoiler:
              During the time of the Ori invasion of the Milky Way galaxy the ascended Ancients looked upon the doomed planets as each one converted to Origin. Those who stood against where destroyed by the slaughter that followed. A few individuals amongst the ascended had different views from the others; they could not sit back and watch as civilization after civilization fell into Ori hands. The group of ancients that could not stand by and watch, met with the collective and pleaded there case. They were allowed to undertake there wishes, to help in the fight against the Ori, to save what they had left behind.

              The group still in ascended form contacted some non ascended Ancients and began work on a way to stop the onslaught. Using there knowledge, they created a new ship, one capable of standing against the Ori.
              The project took just under three months with the use of a time dilation device and some ascended help. Finally at completion the Ancient de-ascended and joined a crew of 85 other Ancients. There ship hadn’t been tested, it hadn’t even seen the stars yet, but as the last de-ascended they had the position of an Ori fleet.

              The hyperdrive was engaged and the cloak activated, the Videum was launched into its first assault.
              The first assault was a success; using the cloak to get close enough to an Ori-ship they Videum unleashed its devastating Beam weapon draining much of the Ori shields followed by an assault of the pulse cannons. The Ancients were happy that their ship could stand against a single Ori-ship, multiple targets however they were not sure about.
              After its initial success the Videum left the Ori-ship in ruins as a sign to future ships that they had a threat. After that day it is unknown where the Videum is or if it even still exits, all that is known is that occasionally an Ori-ship is found, debris floating in space.

                How is it too powerful for its size... a Puddle Jumper dostoyed a Hat'tak... I mean... yeah.

                And it is not a scaled down version. Its designed after similar style and tech, but it is otherwise totally different.

If their was more advanced technology than the Ori then they clearly havent looked hard enough. To consider a ship more powerful than ships essentially built by God's is absurd.
                The Orii did not build their ships in the way you said. The energy cannons take two shots to destroy a Asgard shielded Daedalus Class.
                Wraith ships can do the same in about a minute.
                The Wraith would not have been able to take down Atlantis' shield for sevearl days.

                So if one minute of a single wraith ship's fire is equal to about one blast from an Orii ship, it would take far over a thousand shots to take down Atlantis' shield. And that is being generous.
                Put that in perspective for you?

                Let me attack the principle of your ideas now:
                The Orii don't know everything. Ascended beings are temporal. They are spatial. They exist in a specific space at a specific time.
                We see this every time we encounter one.
                It was said in the show that being Ascended doesn't make you all-knowing. You need to learn while you are ascended.
                Being ascended just makes it much easier.

                The Orii don't know everything.
                Things can be hiden from Ascended beings, Merlin's dimensional device proved that.

                The Ascended Ancients shielded Ancient tech(being in the milky way) from Orii knowledge.
                Id the Orii knew about Pegasus, they probably would have invaded it by now.
                So the Orii are not aware of that Ancient tech either.
                Thus: Alteran tech did not effect Orii knowledge.
                Thus: Your entire point is wrong.
                Further: These Ancients in my story essentially devoted themselves to non-Ascended technological improvement. The Orii just started designing and making ships, very well I might add.

                Here is your own deffinition of Fanwank:
                Fanwank
                This is a derogatory term that has a clear and distinct definition within our little realm and is actually a term I think we all coined because it’s used nowhere else. If your ship is called fanwank then it’s for a reason and you should listen and evaluate your ship as to why.
                What is fanwank you ask? It describes a ship that uses or portrays something that it’s completely over the top in every way, something that is inexplicable or unnecessary, overkill, way beyond the requirements or technical ability of the creators or the ship.Examples of fanwank can be found all over this section, common fanwanking features are ZPM's as power sources, ancient weapons and shields, all in horrendous numbers and megalithic sizes.
                Lets see:
                My City Ship made by Ancients who dedicated themselves to technological developement has three improved ZPMs. Atlantis, a much smaller city ship, had three ZPMs.
                The Main Ship is armed with quite a few anti-fighter anti-ship pulse cannons.
                That combined are really effective.
                The ships has eight Sattelite style Energy beam cannons. No more than four can fire in any direction.
                They can take out one ship per shot.
                They have a large number of Drones. Atlantis has large numbers of Drones also. This Ancient City ship is far larger than Atlantis.
                How is it Fanwank?

                Now here are a few details that I believe are what devide our views:
                I believe the Orii are far less powerful than you do.
                I believe Ancient Drones are unaffected by Orii shields (this is where most of the power of my ships comes from against Orii ships. PS: The ships all run out of Drones in my story.)
                I believe old Lantean Ancient Satellite weapons could destroy an Orii ship already with a few shots.

                So keep that in mind when reading what I posted.

                  Main Engineering

                  Dimensions: The decks are 3 meters high with each deck having a ventilation shaft that’s runs the length of the deck which are one meter high giving an overall deck height of 4 meters, the only deck that does not have a ventilation shaft is the bridge.
                  The bottom two decks are 8 meters high with ventilation shafts that are 1 meter high so overall the decks are 9 meters high. The overall dimensions of the Videum are 60 meters high with a length of 310 meters with a width of 110 meters.

                  Displacement: Seven hundred thousand metric tons.

                  Crew: The ship has a crew of 115 men and women, with no space for any extra crew or passengers.

                  Craft: The Videum carries only emergency life pods and two Puddle Jumpers.

                  Vehicles: The Videum carries no addition vehicles.

                  Power plant: The Videum is powered by a single ZPM type crystalline power source, it generates a lower output of energy, but has a larger capacity and has a lower chance of overloading.

                  Engines: The Videum uses an Upgraded Ancient hyperdrive capable of interstellar travel along with sublight propulsion, Anti-Gravity engines and Ion Drives.

                  Armament/Weapons: The Videum is equipped with multiple, rotating rapid-fire pulse cannons (similar to those found on Ori battleships), a single beam energy weapon positioned on the front of the ship, the Videum is also equipped with a vast amount of Ancient Drones firing from the front and rear of the ship.

                  Defences: The Videum has been fitted with two Ancient shield generators, designed to overlap is such a manner that neither shield feels a greater strain than the other, allowing a quicker recharge rate.
                  If the shields fail the ship is made of an Ablative hull which dissipates much of the energy that is fired at the ship, it also has a secondary hull for greater defence.

                  Other Technology: The Videum is equipped with basic Ancient Status pods, the ship also contains a ring transporter, crystalline technology, AI/Holographic systems, and enhanced Ancient sensors, the Videum is the only ship known to be equipped with an Astrometrics Lab. The Videum is also equipped with a phased clock.

                  Technical and Historical Notes:

                  Technical Details
                  Spoiler:
                  Power Supply;
                  Spoiler:
                  The Videum is equipped with a brand new power supply. The power supply (yet to be named) is a smaller more compact version of a ZPM. It does not produce as much energy having a lower output per second, but has a larger capacity overall.

                  Life Pods;

                  Upgraded Engines;

                  Phased Cloak;

                  Beam energy weapon;

                  Really nice ship.
                  Unfortunately for my creativity it uses a version of an idea that I was going to use on my third of five ships.
                  Good for you.

                    Each MMP has the same dimensions and basic weapons:
                    Length - 250m
                    Height – 50m
                    Beam – 100m

                    Longbow missile – 5 m by 1m, carries 250 megaton naquida enhanced warhead. Propelled by gas until a safe distance away from ship , then main engine ignites. Used in salvo as an Anti-ship missile but can be used singly to take out massed fighter groups. Typically 180 carried in ship, 150 in MMP

                    Sabre missile - 1.5m by 300mm, carries 500 Kg High explosive warhead or 50 kiloton nuclear warhead. Used as anti – fighter missile, can be used as Anti ship if launched En-mass. Typically 580 carried.

                    35 mm (150rpm per barrel) and 125 mm (90 rpm per barrel) railguns can fire solid shot or ‘flak’ shot for Taking down fighters.A flak round explods into 100 smaller hypervelocity slivers or flechets when either, A) the targeting computer detonates all shells to for a wall of shrapnell a set distance from the ship , or B) via proximity fuse.
                    250 mm railguns fire solid or Naquida/potassium shells a 30 rpm per barrel

                    History.
                    The dauntless class was built to act as the new heavy battlecruiser for the newly founded Terran space corps (TSC).Designed to be adaptable to new situations , the designer made the ship able to receive a number of different pods, each used for specific mission . This allowed the ship to act as a carrier, assault cruiser or battleship whenever the situation called for. This got rid of the need for 3 different type’s ship. The Dauntless could do it all. The pod also allowed new weapons to be fitted to the ship without the need for a major refit.
                    Construction was started in 2012, before some of the weapon systems were even tested (or indeed designed).The Captain of the first ship, the Dauntless , was Colonel Marks , helm officer of the Prometheus ,Odyssey and captain of the cruiser Vengeance.
                    The ship was deemed ready for active service on January 18 2018.It was placed under the command of Brig. General Cameron Michell, who used the ship as the Flag for his 1st Heavy squadron.
                    The Dauntless completed here shakedown trials with no major problems, except some minor troubles with the clamps that held the MMP in place. The ship has a record of 2 confirmed Hive ship, numerous darts, 1 Ori cruiser, and 32 confirmed Ori fighter kills. Here sister ship the Courageous, was launched 2 years after the Dauntless. The 2 ships have 5 MMP’s avaiable between them.

                    However due to the massive amount of weapons on the ships , each is usually accompined by a dedicated ammo supply ship , usually a ASIS( hope you don't mind me using it)

                      I really like it HSA1. The MMP is a realyl interesting concept, im intrigued as to what the "Island" is. If you have an Image or want to make a model itd be really cool.
                      Also if you need troop transports (i see you have valkyrie) but you can use my ATS. Really gd ship, not fanwank, and just a really cool ship

                        Ok here is the start of a new ship, i want a quick scan from people, and comments to make sure it is ok so far. Especially the idea of the hull and main ship.

                        Spoiler:
                        Name: Oracle

                        Type: Prototype Organic; long range, hyperspace capable, tactical assault ship.

                        Technology base: Ancient

                        Operators: Ancients

                        Naval Classification: Has none

                        Hull: The hull is three meters thick consisting of a genetically engineered metal organic. In theory the ship is a living metal organism, with the ability to integrate with mechanical technology. The ship has the ability to “heal” itself much like that of a Wraith ship.

                        Decks:There are ten decks, with the middle two decks larger in height than the others.

                        Layout:To be done

                        Dimensions: The decks are three meters high with ventilation areas running between decks, these are one meter high, except for the two middle decks which are twelve meters in height. The overall height of the ship is sixty-four meters, with a beam of one hundred to one hundred and thirty at its largest point; the overall length is three hundred and fifty meters.

                        Displacement: Seven hundred and fifty thousand metric tons.

                        Crew: The ship has a crew of 150 men and women

                        Craft: The Oracle carries a small compliment of craft

                        Vehicles: None

                        Power plant:

                        Engines:

                        Armament/Weapons:

                        Defences:

                        Other Technology:

                        Technical and Historical Notes:

                          Defintly good, i think having the Mechanical healing hull could work if you used the Idea or Nanites, remember that nanites have biologically kept things ticking for along time in the SGU, even as far back as S1. If you continue along the thread that the Asurians evolved at a point when the Lantians were doing a great deal of micro-technological research. Now while the nanites which resulted in the Asurians wer hostile and could evolve, these nanites were taught to adapt and replicate to fill only the required dimensions of the particular class of ship they were station on. Essentially the entire ship was covered in a layer of nanite cells and just like when you shoot a HFR they assimilate back in to thier origional form (by recovering themselves with the outer layer and replicating to fill any damage) the ship also does the same thing, whatever indentations are made in battle are plugged and eventually the nanites mimic the material that the origional ship was made of.
                          That would be a good basis for a hull, in fact i patent it and wil lbe using it at somepoint im sure

                              Theoretically if Mkcay got hold of the base code of the Asurians we could eventually reprogram them to do the same thing, all wed need to do is recreated the nanites they are based on with the editing programming. Weve been studying nanites in the stargate universe so long im surprised this hasnt been developed in some form anyway. i bet the Asgard use soem form of nanite repair to fit thier ships, at the very least robots, i cant see a engineer Asgard anywhere..even if the asgard city had what seemed thousands of engineering type facilities around the 90% finished oniel.
