SG1 Best Episode Tournament - Seasons 1 through 7 overall

Many thanks to Celsius for kindly granting me permission to steal your idea.

For those who somehow don't know this yet, Celsius has been creating tournaments where you vote out your least favorite episodes of each season (the theory being that the ones that are left are the best episodes). I was struck by the difference in overall quality between the seasons (at least IMO), so I thought I'd do an overall episode tournament, to see how the seasons in general seem to compare.

Just doing seasons 1 through 7 because the DVD's for season 8 aren't out yet, and I don't want anybody (least of all myself) excluded on the basis that they haven't yet had the opportunity to view season 8.

RULES
With a few exceptions, which will be mentioned in a minute, the rules are the same that Celsius has been using.

• Vote for episodes you want eliminated from the best episode list. That is, vote for your least favorites of the episodes remaining. This will be the rule right up until the very last round, when you will vote for your favorite of the two episodes remaining.
  
  
• Roughly once a day, the votes will be tallied, and (provided there is not a tie) an episode will be eliminated from the overall list and a new round begins. You can join the tournament at any time, and vote in as many, or as few, rounds as you like, but you can vote only once per round.
  
  
• Vote in each round using new posts. Don't go back and edit your old posts for the new round - I won't find them there.
  
  
• Do not vote for episodes that have already been eliminated. Anyone who votes for episodes that have already been eliminated will have all of their votes for that round excluded. (Celsius's rule, and I see no reason to change it).

This tournament differs from the ones Celsius has been running in the following ways:

• At the end of each round, Celsius has been posting a tally of the votes, the rules for the next round, and the list of the episodes remaining. I won't exactly be doing that, mostly because that would be cruel to the GateWorld servers, since we're talking roughly 155 episodes to begin with.
  
  Instead, at the end of each round, I will post a new message with the tally and the rules for the next round, but I won't be listing the episodes remaining. Not there, at least. Instead, I will provide a link to this post, which will be updated each round to list which episodes have been eliminated, and which episodes remain.
  
  
• Don't vote out episodes per season; vote out episodes overall
  
  
• Because we're talking about so many episodes, there will be more votes per round to begin with. The number will decrease occasionally, as the number of episodes remaining decrease. This post will always indicate how many episodes you should vote out that round. This will hopefully make things easier for everybody.

I'd like to vote for keeping the rules the same as they were when we started. I don't see how allowing someone to vote against one ep up to three times per round would make the results any more accurate. It seems to me it would make them less accurate, by giving more weight to those who chose to gang up on a certain group of episodes. One person, one vote per ep per round seems the most balanced way to me.

Please note that this is a proposed rule change, not an effective rule change. The rules are currently unchanged, and if we put this change into effect, it won't be until the beginning of a new round.

I was wondering if it would make it more accurate if we were able to devote some of our 8 total votes into voting for certain episodes more than once.

Within strict limits, of course.

Specifically, I was thinking of changing the rules so they would now say, for example:
We are casting a total of 8 votes per round.
You may vote for a single episode more than once per round, but no more than 3 times.
You must vote for at least 4 different episodes per round.

So I, for example, would then be able to cast the following votes:

My question: do you think this would make things easier? Do you think it would make the results more accurate? Please let me know what you think - I won't even consider changing the rules without lots of feedback.
