This is the fourth round (28, 30, 31, and 32) in which The Broca Divide has gotten second place, but it has yet to get first place, despite the fact that the first place vote-getters always get eliminated. Statistically, I find this interesting. I'm at a bit of a loss to explain it.

Kind of liked Prisoners. Well, actually, truth be told, I don't remember Prisoners all that well, but what I remember I liked. I think that might have been one of the first eps where I noticed the Jack/Daniel chemistry, because it was kind of hard to miss. And of course, I can never get enough of that.

"Interesting," I said earlier. Add "Perplexing" and "Frustrating." It's not that I hated The Broca Divide - it's just that... it's been four rounds now where I've thought it was surely going to go out in the next round, but it never does. So when it's part of your list, that's a bit of a let-down.

About "Divide and Conquer" - Well, it's certainly not one of the worst episodes. It suffers for having Anise in it, but I think most people (though not all) are voting for it because it starts the whole ship thing. Although, speaking as an anti-shipper, Divide and Conquer... really wasn't that bad. It had a decent plot, and nothing was said in it that couldn't be interpreted as Jack giving a specific instance of a general truth (the biggest strength of the show is that all of the four main characters care about all the others, far more than they're technically supposed to). I consider the shippy scene in Evolution Part 2 to be far worse, since it was this scene that turned me into an anti-shipper in the first place - up until that ep, I really didn't mind one way or the other, and still don't mind when it comes to fanfics (I ranted about what made this scene so awful in the Anti ship thread, and will rant about it again after the ep makes my list, but not right now). Anyway, just my 2 cents on Divide and Conquer.

I've voted against Broca Divide for two dozen rounds or more now, and I could list 5 or 6 reasons why it's been the bottom of my list from almost the beginning of this poll. However, I'll spare you and just say that IMHO it was a poor retread of an overused Star Trekkie scifi plot and it held no surprises for me from beginning to end. And I thought the actors looked rather uncomfortable about the whole thing, too.

See, see, see, see. It’s the anti-Miss Congeniality. Never quite first place! LOL.

As for why I’m so adamant about "The Broca Divide"? It’s a matter of principle, now. But it’s been on my list since the beginning despite a lovely Jack & Janet scene a) for the shallow reason that I have a visceral “ick” reaction to the caveman makeup (see Metamorphosis on same list), and b) I thought the premise was weak.

As for Prisoners, that’s one of the ones I’ll have refer back to the episode guide to figure out that it’s the one where...(see Heru’ur’s First Prime, you’re not the only one.) I mean, they’ve been prisoners SO many times! (Is it the jail planet with Linea?)
