I also really love 1991 by Starbuck92. (It's posted here at GW but it's rated Mature/R so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to it and you can't really get to the author profiles anymore...Anybody know if I'm allowed to link to it since it's archived here? I can't seem to find another good link to the author or the story.)

Anyway, it's set during that week but it doesn't have much to do with the forming of their relationship. Instead, Sam tells the story of her involvment in the Gulf War. There are some shippy bits, but the sweetest thing about it to me is how Jack gets to know more about Sam even if he doesn't feature in the story all that much (though there is a bit of a twist to all that).

And it does not look like the Internet Archive WaybackMachine have anything at www.shahrazad.net archived at all either, let alone the Stargate Novel Archive (link isn't working as of this post for me either).

Odd, I have no trouble opening it (not now and not yesterday after the link was provided). I do get an 'oops, can't make a connection' when clicking on the text file but then I just choose to view a cached version and get it.

Now, nine days to Jack's birthday so who knows of birthday stories for him?

The only ones I really know are the Birthday Tradition series by Kate McCaye but they don't qualify because they are about Jack throwing the birthday party for science twins Sam and Daniel (we didn't know birthdays before the series started.)

And when I went search FFnet most were for Sam's or Daniel's birthday. But, anyway some goodies I turned up:

Jack’s non-existent birthday turns into a very low-key one, thanks to Sam. Sam, Jack and pie in his office. Walter makes a cameo. My attempt at a sweet, but not too fluffy Sam/Jack story, more friendship than romance, but you can read it either way.

It's all day that I've been trying to remember the title of a fic...and it's even probable that I have it on my pc...
Anyway, Sam dies on a mission. Jack is kinda suicidal but then he sees her. He thinks that she is a ghost but after a while he discoveres that he can touch her and starts living with her. He leaves the SGC and everyone thinks that he is crazy. After 8 months Sam disappears but left a message for Jack. He goes throught the Gate and finds her and she is pregnant. The fic should be on the SG Novels...
