Not quite what I was thinking but awesome in a woohooey way.

I have to admit it's not for me. If I'm paying to attend an event then I want the freedom to enjoy it on my own schedule... of course depending on how much the ticket cost; I mean, a tenner for LFCC and a bit of crewing and a chance to be near a favourite actor I wouldn't refuse.
I do understand the appeal for those who do it though. You do get perks; the best seats and more time with the guests -sometimes to just chat informally and personally - which probably makes the occasion for some.
Anyway I won't be at AT7 as an attendee but may still lobby lurk for at least a day, depending on other commitments. Hopefully I won't be mid bathroom renovation. The way things are going it may well be that long before it gets done.

Horses for courses It's definitely not something I'd want to do at an AT event.

Of course, if they'd like me to take care of Martin at Ch.8.1. I'd give it some serious thought

          No really?

See we do all have our line, so to speak. I would gladly pay for a ticket and give up my free time to escort, oh, say, Hugh Jackman around for a weekend. If he needs someone to scrub his back in the shower, I'm his gal!

Right, not to make you jealous or anything, but I'm off up the cafe for a fry up brunch. Treating myself to a lazy indulgent one this weekend because I worked my bum off last week doing housework.

You managed to turn my innocent intention into ickybah I wasn't offering to scrub Martin's back in the shower, just, you know, make sure he has enough coffee/tea/soda/whatever all day and that he starts his day with a good breakfast

I'm not jealous - I'm having lunch at Anderson's next Sunday - so there!

Don't worry about getting there - haven't missed one yet! Besides, Claire and I will be going and we will be starting from the hotel as well so you can join the two of us. I will probably arrive at the hotel either the night before or the morning of as well. But "with a little help from our friends" we'll figure out how to get there and back!

Pah, I never win this game.

I wasn't being ickybah about Hugh Jackman; I was simply stating that I'd be happy to provide a back washing service should he be of need for one. If you want to take that statement, daydream about martin and turn it into something ickybah... well y'know can't control the thoughts going through your head.

Nope, you'll never win as long as I have the Anderson's card to play

Even I can't control the thoughts going through my head

Laurie, I'll make sure Paul gets an invite, so you may be able to cadge a lift with him again

This is true. Andersons out trumps everything.

except possibly my son's windy bottom tonight.

Very cool - Paul is a sweetheart and that would make it a lot easier. Better known as Claire's hubby!

Oh and look what number post this is!

He's keen to join us, as long as his stewarding duties don't prevent him - I told him I don't think he'll be needed until midday on Friday and that you wood know since you did it last year

Good and bad about stewarding at AT events. You do get great seats as a way of saying thanks but it can keep you very busy. Never did see Space Milkshake last year as I had a shift every time it was on. also, because Gabit had to get out of the rooms that night, it was a very last sunday night cleaning up and moving stuff. My poor nephew didn't get dinner until very late because he was waiting for me. Also, you don't have the same amount of time to visit with friends over the weekend.

You don't get any extra time with AT, same as all other attendees.

Still, I am happy to do it. I love meeting new people and trying to make their experience a little bit better.

Love Paul! Wood be great if he can join us. Yes, stewarding generally starts Friday afternoon unless he is involved in the set up.

Thanks to Pengyn, SamJackShipLover and Mala for the sig.

*sighs* Already jealous of all of you.

As for stewarding, I'm always roped into doing that, I don't mind it and I love the fact that you get to meet lots of people. At the end of the day, everybody recognizes you and even if the event is huge, it feels familiar.

Ironically I'm always the one who's lost when I go anywhere (from an event, to traveling).
