So now we're on Red Alert for fires and sunstroke, with a large part of Epping Forest already in flames. It's supposed to be a bit cooler over the week-end - I hope so. It's still 28C here, at 10pm

Yuk, over 82*F - beginning to sound like Las Vegas but without the casinos and shows! Hate fires - one of the reasons I left California! 10's of thousands of acres burning almost every summer through fall. (they have the "Santa Ana" winds blowing in the fall - they blow East to West (normally other way around) and because they blow over the desert - very very hot! Hope is does cool down.

Really weird I had endometriosis (stage 5) and didn't even know I had it except for very erractic more than monthly visits - absolutely no pain. My friend had stage one and was in total agony!

Whoa 19 guests! Where can we put them all - make room!

Some women have it and never even know about it, Jumble. Not until they struggle to conceive and have a routine lap and dye and it's discovered then. Others do it the other way round. You're very lucky; about 50% of sufferers will have fertility problems. Guess who got the short straw.

It's cooler here tonight, but not by much. Then again I have just done about 15 minutes doing laps of the pool. I'm off to Camber tomorrow because it's pirate day in Hastings on Sunday so we're all going dressed as pirates. I am hoping it's not too hot.

            Indeed it will

My right thumbnail is really long, and the rest aren't far behind - I blame the weather

Actually, it is a proven fact that nails grow faster in the summer - something to do with the extra vitamins we soak up from the sun

mine had to be fixed surgically. I only had one week in four WITHOUT my period. The pain was bad too. Wound up with a hysterectomy.

Ah, I didn't know that but I had noticed that my nails are always in far better condition and longer in the summer than the winter. My body generally is happier when it's warm and sunny and doesn't do so well in the cold

I was in a lot of pain, so I got sent to the hospital for a laparoscopy and that's what they found.

I never had any fertility problems - got pregnant at the drop of a hat........ or pants

It's amazing the amount of useless information one picks up from watching quiz shows

I'm the opposite -- my body wood rather be cold than hot.

oh, my body certainly likes the higher humidity of the summer (nails and skin anyway) but the rest of my prefers to be cool!

My mum once said that she'd never known so many people have trouble getting pregnant and in her day all you had to do was hang your knickers on the line and you were knocked up. Certainly seemed to work that way for her; my dad had to have the snip in order for them to stop at just the five of us.

My nails definitely love the summer but my hair? Not so much. Combination of sun and pool and I have, what I call, holiday hair; all frizzy and sticky. Will take some doing to restore it to decent condition again.

And I've just noticed my fur baby Monks seems to have a swollen face on one side. She seems happy enough (well listless but that's possibly the heat and her cystitis problem) and purry and doesn't flinch when I touch it. Hoping it's just an insect bite and not expensive abcess / tooth pulling job. Oh heck, not sure now whether I should leave her for the weekend.

Me too, but by that time (age-wise) I didn't really care!

                              23 - yes - quite a different matter!

Well this am is starting out rather nice. Cloudy and only a lovely 56°F/13°C out right now. To bad it won't stay like this. Predicted to get in the mid 80's today with temperatures rising for the next few days. Plus longest dry spell going on in Seattle. We had a little rain down here but barely enough to count! But can't complain compared to the rest of the nation (or the other side of the state)! They are seeing the mid to high 90's again. YUK! Suppose to break up in the next few days. People are starting to drop like flies across the nation.
