busy as ever down here in the deep south Starting to pack for the move back to Queensland over the summer...still haven't found a new house to move into yet, which is a teeny but of a worry...

The musical is going well...we open in six days! its all getting quite exciting We bump into the theatre on Monday, and then it's full steam ahead till opening night! The err...kissing scene is going well when I don't stop to think about it I will NOT let myself feel bad about it!

Morning Woohoos!

Wow, 2.5 hours sleep last night, bringing my grand total since Tuesday morning up to 8.5 hours. Think I might have a party!
I've got this woman coming around at 10am who's going to do the service for Charles' funeral and I'm sort of hoping she's got a good comedy repetiore and won't think I'm too bonkers when I tell her all about the sing-along thing. Panicking slightly because now I have to think of all the things I want her to say and my brain has, usefully, given up all attempts at coherency and rationale. I might have mushed it a bit on brandy, mind you, which, dammit still isn't helping me sleep.
I'm supposed to be going to a family party this afternoon - arranged before all this happened (yeah, yeah, still can't say the words - ain't denial just wonderful ). I told my niece not to cancel because, for starters, I think it'll be lovely for everyone to get together this weekend, but I'm feeling slightly panicky about that too. Then I was feeling slightly panicky walking round the pet food shop yesterday. I kind of wish everyone would just sod off and leave me alone now.

*hugs* Entirely understandable Hope the party is OK, but I'm sure everyone would understand if you find it too much.

But this thread's been a tonic. I appreciate the hugs and laughs.... oh and I definitely laughed at Jumble's declaration of undying love for RDA... well that's what I heard anyway.

I know, who'd have thought Either she really loves you very much, or someone invented time travel and brought the Jumble of three years ago here for a bit

And because I need laughs today, one of my favourite bts clips is this, because a) it's set up by Martin, b) it has Amanda being hilarious and c) it takes the micky out of RDA just a little bit.

Oooh, yummy! Asda has some strawberry cakes atm that look just like those and smell absolutely wonderful! We were selling them at work yesterday as part of our silliness for Pink Friday - I was a martyr though and didn't try them; I am going to get that last 7lbs off before Christmas!

Seriously, thanks for the laughs. It's been a bit of a day for that all told. It started at the registrars office where we were shown into the "lavender room" - except it was really exactly the wrong shade of lilac to be soothing (and had an annoying hummy flickery strip light and an empty tissue box just to, y'know, make the bereaved rellies feel really at ease! )
Then there was the funeral directors and much hilarity over the thought of stick Charles in a coffin with a picture of The Last Supper on the inside of the lid. I kid you not, there was one on offer. I mean, religious, he wasn't - it'd pee him off something rotten, but only marginally less than if we'd swapped it out for a picture of a speed camera in there. Since he specialised in being antagonistic (with a smile on his face) it's be only what he deserved.
There's other stuff we're giggling about still, which I won't tell you all of since it might spoil the surprise but one thing Charles always told me (and everyone else who would listen... ad nauseum as it happens) is that he wanted to be there at his wake - he wants his coffin to be used as the bar for his funeral... um, so, well, that's sorted. He's coming home on Thursday, we'll have a bloody good party that night, drink a drink or ten to him, probably crack open the coffin and pour a couple of scotches in there and then the funeral is on Friday 12th. Do you think I'm joking about cracking open the coffin... hah, you haven't met the family!

Glad everything is getting sorted in the way Charles wanted, and that your family is crazy enough to embrace it all

Some members of my family on the other hand, are far too serious and image conscious at times. At my Grandad's funeral, we all met at the funeral home before going on to the cemetary. My 6 year old nephew had put on his suit my sister had bought him just 5 months previously to find that it was about 4 inches too short on the arms and legs. She told him to go and find some smart shorts and a t-shirt, and then rushed everyone out of the door.

When we arrived at the funeral home she was competely devastated to see that he'd donned his favourite bright orange baggy shorts, and his favourite Sonic t-shirt proclaiming "HOW MUCH FUN CAN YOU HANDLE?"

Some of us on the other hand, fortunately including Nanna, found it rather amusing

I stop one stop short of demanding Jumble say RDA is better than Martin because even I'm not that cruel... and anyway, he's not.

I hope now you see the serious consequences of waiting until you are at the chronic stage of an illness before going to see the Doctor! Are you sure the queasiness is caused by the antibiotics and not the unfortunate remembrance poor chat up lines? *raises eyebrows*

6 days!!!!! *iz excited for you* It'll be wonderful, you'll be fantastic and it'll all be over far too soon Then you'll be able to concentrate on finding a house In the mean time, we'll clear out all of Nad's stuff from under the bus so there's somewhere for you to sleep in the event you need somewhere to stay for a while.


Heading off to Eden with the kids again today, there's lots of halloweeny stuff to do, and the ice rink is back!

I spent half of last week nagging Suz to see a doctor because she'd fallen off Wrex and I was sure she'd got at least one broken rib. In the end she went and I was right So yesterday when she told me for the enth time that I should see a doctor I decided she might be right, and she was
