Yes, family really is important. My brother and I have always been very close, we've been trough a lot and that might have played a little part in it. I always believed that us having seperate lives was the best thing ever . But, since he got diagnosed with kidney disease that a) might make part of his live horrible and b) could cause his kidneys to fail at any point made me realize even more how precious time and quality time is. I though about what it would be like to live far apart when times will be rough for him and it made me feel odd. I wouldn't make decisions based on where my brother is living and where I would be going, or put my life on hold for it but I can imagine that I would want to be near my family. Add to that that people have died from the same thing and it all gets very nasty...

*blinks* Sorry about that, but I'm feeling a bit... sad about my brothers situation today. Long story, but life can suck!
    ((((((Nad))))))

Sorry to hear about that, you're so right about family .

Went out tonight...while my brother had his GF over in here I went with his friend to the cinema.. and just in the city(to the pub)
(didn't made it too late because he has to work tomorrow)

            OT 'bout bro's GF
            Spoiler:
Just spoke a few min with her...and she is actually quite fun! Good to laugh with! We had the same thought pattern that was quite fun
We talked a bit about shopping (which she also loved) and other goofy things!

Perhaps I will still like her

Do what you will wish you have done in 5 or 10 years. Remember nothing is set in stone...if things don't work out, you can always move on. The "dependent" idea would bug me...being a "woman of a certain age" (47) I like my level of independence. Hubby and I are pretty inter-dependent, but not glued to each other's hip by any means I am the type that always counsels a woman to have her own money(bank account) and her own interests apart from her partner, just because it will make her happier and more interesting.
Follow your heart and find happiness in whatever way you choose.

Enjoyed watching some SG1 today (yeah I know....should have been doing homework ) and all of the little glimpses of martin.
              All advice is welcome

              Spoiler:
Ah, the five year plan that my daughter-in-law is so fond of

About the 'dependent' thing. I probably used the wrong word there, because what he means by that is he wants me to trust him to always be there and depend on him for love and support no matter what. I have a hard time with that because whenever I've put myself in that position in the past the person concerned has either let me down or turned into a monster I'm too cynical, and I know that, but it's hard to change that

And yes, do move to the Netherlands Just don't loose sight of reality, I guess.
I'd need a guided tour first, just so I know what I'm letting myself in for Reality? What reality?

              Jann, I know the feeling.

If only I could take the wrench to this book I'm reading.

Who ever thought that psychoanalytical theory of film wood be a good module to take?

                          God only knows.

                          Spoiler:
The actual title of the module is "Film Theory and Aesthetics".

                          Which is very misleading .

It certainly is! I wood have thought that wood be very interesting

I've realised that I've listened to Martin waaaaay too much and learned far too much about direction, lighting, blocking, visfx and camera lenses/types/effects I watched 'Serenity' the other day (follow-up to Firefly) I spent most of the time thinking 'Martin wood never have done it that way, he wood have.........'

Apologies to any Firefly fans, I guess I've been totally spoiled by Stargate

                            Edit: New sig, very mushy

Welcome to my world Jumble!! Once you know a bit about directing etc... It's impossible to shut off that little voice in your head

I actually was really surprised by Serenity, considering how laughably bad Buffy was, Joss actually did pretty well with it.

Cute . Based on your recent adventures methinks?

Considering what a low budget he had, I guess it wasn't that bad. I've never seen Firefly so didn't know the back-story, but it was a fun film. I just wish I could shut Martin up enough to let me see a film without being major critical
