My gosh. Look at our disfunctional family

Fine. I'll admit it. I cook every night, often two different meals.
Nothing fancy, but I could feed people.
      Jeez.

And Josi? She's far too busy taking care of the books and mopping up the flood water to cook for you!

So go on, admit that you need me!

      I do!
But you keep running off to the winecellar with the guy.
Being original is difficult when you can't stop quoting your favorite tv show, For crying out loud!

Oh well, if I have to be honest - I do cook a lot but very simple stuff. I use to cook a lot of fancy meals decades ago, but those days are long gone. First, I really have no one to cook for but me and second, I like eating simple. It was fun to have a "dinner party" back in the "old times" but not so much now. Back then I would theme it like Chinese, or Kosher or Italian or something like that and dig out some great recipes. But, it takes way to much effort and I just don't want to do it anymore. I was never a great cook but a good one. Now, not so much anymore because I rarely cook anything that is complicated....not worth all that time and effort to be eaten in 10 or 15 minutes.

            Sorry Nola.

            ...
But Laurie is an adult, and Josi is also responsible enough to use the stove!
She works, like, with books and stuff.

            *looks around*

            I'll just eat the pizza.
I do! They only let responsible people work with books

well, I wound up making a Mexican dish - arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) it's seasoned with comino (cumin), garlic, green pepper, onions, and has tomatoes in it as well. Really delicious.

There don't seem to be many 69 posts lately - shows how little we're chatting on here nowadays. Too much RL getting in the way

Well no SG info coming out anymore. And nothing about Sanctuary either. Been (as expected) very quiet on those fronts. People just lose interest in this site since they have Twitter, Snapshot, FB and other sites to go to. Just us few stragglers that stick around to chat with each other. Otherwise - very quiet. I think this site is going to slowly just fade away like so many others from shows that no longer are new and rarely are aired. Although I hear they are showing SG and sanctuary on a "free" station in the UK. Always been free here and there hasn't been an episode in a very long time on either of these shows.

Hey WooHoos! Work has been kicking my arse the last couple of weeks. By the time I get dinner made, make sure homework is done and get the kids to bed, I'm falling asleep on the couch The kids have started ice skating and piano...and the girl child brought home her new recorder today...my ears are not bleeding...yet

Last weekend hubby and I got a night alone though. We had friends take the kids overnight I told him that we should make that a habit. And I got to go to a concert with some friends. So there's been some fun of my own to counter the craziness! I am looking forward to my day off tomorrow even though I have to clean It's nice to not have anywhere to be.

I hope everyone has a lovely ending to the week!

It has been a tremendously lovely week here - the weather has been perfect - very warm and sunny.

I am fairly well stuffed - I made chicken alfredo with linguini and then some puff pastry filled with fresh lemon curd. So delicious I ate way too much. The pastry was an experiment, and it turned out so well that I will definitely be doing it again. Instead of making the filling like I normally would for a lemon meringue pie, separating the yolks from the whites and so forth, I used whole eggs - much more forgiving during the cooking.

When you say 'this site', do you mean GW as a whole or this thread in particular? This thread has never been about Stargate, Sanctuary or any other show and I can't remember the last time any of them were discussed here. We're all about Martin, his WooHoos and the friendships that we've forged together around here and as long as there are WooHoos to chat to this thread will never fade away. I won't let it

*waves to Scully* It's always good to have some time alone with one's partner - and be glad it was just a recorder that was brought home - violins are murder on the ears

This site fading away is a depressing thought. And Jumble holdng on to it.
I can just see a WooHoo version of 'Copacabana' in the works here. But without the shooting people. You know...

                              ''Her name is Jumble
                              she was a WooHoo
but that was 30 years ago
when they still had their TV shows.''

I stll like it here. I enjoy the quiet and the creepy Spencers.

Also, I'm moved by how you guys line up to feed me...
