Last night I had the first semi-good nights sleep in over a week. Sammie actually jumped up on my bed and went to sleep. This is the first time she has done that in since she got sick. Jumping up on anything was way to hard for her. When I woke up she was not there anymore (normal) but I used the bathroom and went looking for her and she came up to me first. I gave her a little love and went back to bed. She followed me and again jumped up. And this time after a few minutes she started groomer herself. That, my friends was the best thing I could have seen. Sick cats don't groom, only cats on the mend and healthy ones do. Looks like all your good wishes and my prayers were answered. I am ecstatic!sigpic

Thank you all for your good vibes and well wishes. And yes, I am relieved because if she remained the way she was or got worse she wouldn't have made it. I wouldn't get to have a Christmas this yearand in the end I would have a very sad way to end the year and start the new one.
Now mind you, she isn't out of the woods yet. Her behavior is more like before, she is eating and drinking almost like before but she is sooo thin now. All I feel are her bones when I pet her so I am very carefully doing that. I need her to eat a better variety of foods as well. She has just started eating a little dry food. And thanks to Cags - she seems to like the canned food she suggested. So I'm hoping to put about 3 pounds more on her to make me really feel it is over. But until then - I AM A VERY HAPPY CAMPER!
Oh and to answer the question asked: she is about 9 1/2 years old (only an approximate guess).
