I always celebrate the villains...
On the Andersons dinner for AT8, I'm still on the fence at the moment trying to decide what to do between AT8 and Chevron but will let you know once I make a decision
Just sold my old car. It all happened so quickly - only listed it yesterday and had lots of interest. They seemed like a nice family though, it was going to another lady so hopefully she'll treat it well! I must admit I did get a little emotional - the car has been in the family for a long time and has been a great little runaround. Still...all good things must come to an endsigpic

Hola!
Happy new year! Yes it has been a while since I was back here. My bad.
I'm not even going to try and catch up with everyone's news except to offer a collective huggle to all... because if things are good or bad, hugging is still pretty awesome.
Been around a bit of FB and Twitter but not much time for forums, alas. Loving the Musketeers discussion - I haven't even seen the series yet but you're making me want to.
Martin birthday art. Will try and get something done to you by then Jumble. Life is a bit bonkers at the moment, largely because....
Spoiler:
Firstly my new year was interesting. And not in a good way. I ended up sitting in the middle of - what amounted to - someone's marriage falling apart because of drink. Having had I drop myself (well, huh, new year!) and with a sleeping child in the house I couldn't leave so had to sit through it all. Not pleasant and not how I wanted to start 2015.
Thankfully things have improved for the people in question, although whether there's a permanent improvement remains to be seen.
That was followed not 6 days later by a frantic call from my best friend to get her, having finally kicked her no good lying cheating scumbag hubby to the kerb. The very long story short on that is that it turns out the scale of his deception to both his wife and, er, fiancé (yes you read that right) was pretty astonishing.
So anyway, she's homed up here with me for now until she gets back on her feet; no going back this time!
In other news I am planning my bathroom and Ben's bedroom renovations which will , hopefully, commence ASAP (or as soon as I've found a reliable builder anyway.)
The practical upshot of all that is that it's quite unlikely I'll be able to have anyone stay over for Chevron or AT8.I'm completely rammed I'm afraid... maybe a littlie on the sofa.
Just a bit of fair warning really because I'm normally happy to put people up and I know it might affect decisions to attend things if there's additional accommodation costs involved.
For my part, I've no plans to attend AT8. If there's a pre-dinner then I will have to see if I can go (depends on when and what time as I don't get in from work until almost 6 these days). As for Chevron, I will have to see nearer the time whether it's worth going or not.
But I do hope to get up to LFCC this year at least.
P.S. I still love my pink sig!sigpic

Blimey!
Spoiler:Uh, just how on earth did he think he'd get away with that?! Pretty sure having a wife already is about top of the list of lawful impedimentsGood riddance, indeed!
Also, it's the kind of thing that you don't think actually happens in real life outside of soaps. I remember years ago watching agog from my friend's window as the wife in the house opposite threw her husband's clothes out of the bedroom window to where he was standing in the street in his socks. Much futile yelling apologies later, he sadly picked it all up off the ground and trudged away, never to be seen again.
But seriously, hope she's OK, and she's definitely in the best place being looked after by you

DI'm more hopeful of making chevron weekend than AT8 this year, because of the conference. But LFCC for sure!

Oh, believe me Josi, that sort of thing really does happen in real life! And that's pretty mild - I could tell you some tales that wood make your hair stand on end! Shotguns, knives, kidnapped babies - it all really happens
You'd be surprised how really stoopid people can be too - putting things on FB and expecting not to be found out
I'm not doing AT8 and probably not Chevron, but I'm happy to organise an Anderson's dinner wheneverI might be interested in LFCC, depending when it is and who will be there

I just found out that I'm going to Maine this summer for a week or so with my sisters!!! We will eat our weight in lobster and have a grand time with lots of wine (or scotch).
Damn (yes, I meant to swear), I wanna be at Andersons! I don't care much about the rest of it, but I would love to hug you all in person.sigpic

I wish you could make it to the UK one time when I am there. Just what state to you live in?
And why do you have "Caffeinated Teacher" while everyone else has a military ranking???sigpic

Heh. I was thinking ''Hey, I should go to a con if only to see what it's all about'' and then stuff happened, making me believe that the universe is preventing me from having that kind of fun
So yeah. Back to the hospital for Mom. She's been home for a week and it did not work out all that well. She's ok, just not healing properly.
BTW, I am making a Birthday card!Being original is difficult when you can't stop quoting your favorite tv show, For crying out loud!

I am in San Antonio, Texas.
I have a custom rank as a gift from the mods on the occasion of my birthday a couple of years ago, partly for being a very long-time member and partly for being generally helpful. (probably all the gifs didn't hurt either!) I was exceptionally shocked and pleased by their thoughtfulness.sigpic
