Oh please - I'm getting ready to turn 68 and you two are talking about showing your age! Except for my ability to walk a lot I'm not showing my age yet (well at least some of it), so you two KNOCK IT OFF! You have so many decades left, I mean REALLY? Now you two behave yourselves. And for you punishment - go eat some chocolate!
Enjoy the DVDs, Jumble! A weekend with the Musketeers, sounds like heaven
Oh, and did you see HBO have announced April 12th as the return date for GoT? Sky haven't said anything yet but if they stick to what they've done in previous years that means we'll have it back on the 13th

I'm just about to start on ep 1

It's still a long time away, but at least it's good to have a date
Yep, finished the eps at around 6.30am, then watched eps 1 and 2 of S2 + the dvd extras when I woke up Boot Camp was brilliant! They went in as four young actors and came out as sword-fighting, pistol-packing, horse-riding Musketeers - awesome to watch that process
I'm trying not to fall for D'Artagnan's charms, but having 'met' Luke makes that very difficult.....
Wow, you really did marathon them! So would you say you are now properly hooked?
I guess it's fair to say that Although I did find myself rolling my eyes quite a lot It's interesting and fast enough paced whilst still allowing time for the characters to develop and keep me intrigued. Besides, I do enjoy the odd bit of buckle swashing now and then
The boot camp one was fab. And Luke is very pretty Aramis might be my favourite but it's not by much - I love all four of them
He's a bit too pretty, and I feel that TPTB have tried to make D'Artagnan into the guy that gets to kiss the girl in every ep, which is really doing the character I disservice IMO
And can someone please explain to me why Porthos talks like an East End Pirate? Sounds too much like Captain Jack Sparrow to me I know there is some back-story to come regarding his parentage, but he still sounds all wrong to me.
I'm pretty sure the prefix 'in' was missing from Laurie's post
Jumble - I know you were making a funny - but ???? huh? And for the record - I am trying to walk almost every day a little and hoping to increase that amount as time goes by.
I quit using any energy (or effort) on my hair since I've gone back to its original ah color (plus all its newly shown white hair!) and trying to give all that effort to my feet and legs! My biggest problem is my knee goes out of place (a little) and tries its very best to trip me up. So far I've been winning that battle and haven't actually fallen down yet, but I really hate fighting battles. I want everything to go back to when I was about 22 (hell even 55 would be nice)! But reality always shoves itself in my walks and it is annoying. Although it now takes longer for it to rear its little head out!
Hey, any of that chocolate cake left - sounds like a perfect lunch meal!

Yeah it's often ridiculous, but I love how it goes at it totally full-on and ends up being totally fun. The nuns with the Molotov cocktails in ep 9 being one of the best examples of that. And there's room for character development and plot intrigue and a lot of buckling of swashes and pretty men in leather... What's not to like?!

He doesn't, really Just Milady and Constance, both of which come directly from Dumas. Oh, and the random blonde woman last episode, true.

He's from a rough background, as we see in Homecoming, so they're marking that linguistically. I like piratical Porthos. Normally Porthos is very one-dimensional, the jokey vain buffoon, so I think one of the things they've done best is round him out. They've done that well with all the characters, actually. They're all somewhat one-dimensional in the source material (Athos probably the least), and many adaptations just double down on that. The D'Artagnan of the book is the world's biggest Mary Sue, for example. These guys feel real.
