they've upped the prediction for today to 100% - just as well since it's been raining cats and dogs since last night. We've had 3 to 3 1/2 inches already.

Sorry for all the rainfall We're supposed to get some tonight, but we've had beautiful weather for the past 3 days!

      Friday was a cleaning day.

Saturday the company came to clean up our basement -- ripped out all of our tile and part of the drywall in the kids' room and steam cleaned and sanitized it all, they are coming back tomorrow to get the fans and the dehumifiers. And will lay new tile and put up new drywall sometime next week. Went to BFFs wedding shower on Saturday also and made a new friend there Yesterday we had our own cookout and it was a lot of fun. Just a few close friends and some family. It was so nice to just sit outside and enjoy the weather and the company.

Today is relax and recover day. Been doing pretty much nothing all day though hubby is about to take the kids to the park and I'm going to clean our bedroom because somehow it became the catch-all for everything we didn't put away as we cleaned over the weekend I feel like our room is going to swallow us in our sleep.

      Happy Hugs Woo-Hoos!

... nope...not touching that comment with a bargepole.

It has been horrible here all day today but brightened by the pleasure of Jumble's company. We were planning on a stroll and then a picnic in the park but ended up birdspotting and chomping (delicious) carrot cake in my conservatory instead.

During my discussion with Julian regarding which PC I should get he said I should go for the one with the bigger screen (21.5" as opposed to 20"), and I said of course, one should never say no to an extra inch and a half - he did a surprised double take and carried on talking about the PC spec whilst a blush spread up from his neck and over his face

The weather really doesn't matter when there is good company and carrot cake to be had I enjoyed both very much *hugs*

I just had my last appointment with my surgeon - he says I've broken all the rules and am Amaaaaazing! He asked permission to share my file with other surgeons because he feels they should all rethink how they deal with this op in cases where the patient is over 50. The accepted norm is that it shouldn't be done because it will almost certainly not work well enough to avoid the patient needing a full hip replacement shortly afterwards anyway. So between him and I, we may have changed the futures of a lot of people who wood otherwise have had to suffer on a long waiting list for hip replacements that they could actually have avoided

Thank you! I think, as I said to him, that it's just a case of mind over matter - I've always been headstrong, and in my head I'm still 25 so my body is just trying to keep up

Mind over matter is hugely powerful. If you refuse to let it beat you, chances are it won't

Unfortunately that is not always the case. Sometimes, you just don't have a choice.

See I knew you'd do fine. Well done on the little thing that'll change a lot of lives.

You always have a choice. Maybe not about what's happened to you (what's gone wrong or what's broken etc.) but you have a choice about how you respond to the challenges that life throws at you.
I chose to be positive about things. Frankly, I've tried negativity and found it to be a sad and lonely old place to be. Life's full of crap; you may as well say soddit and grasp like crazy at every single little thing that makes you smile or happy and be grateful you have that. IMO, of course.

*la la la, glass half full... la la la.... *

Er, no, ta, you can keep those to yourself.
Well done on the gym. I made an attempt to get back on the fitness trail today, after a few months of not being able to. Amazing how quickly everything sags again when you don't keep it up. Bit depressing actually! I don't like the keep fit stuff (would rather scoff chocolate, ta) and the thought I need to keep it going for life or risk buying bras that come in waist sizes instead of back sizes...

                            yay! for being special Jumble

Positive attitude does help with recovery, however sometimes that positive is really, really hard to hold on to. :s

I went to the gym once...now I'm off to make a cake!

Have my induction at the gym in an hour, probably should think about getting dressed We'll see how I feel about the whole thing after that! Although I am in a positive outlook mood at the moment, already lost half the weight I want to. I just need a little push to lose the rest
