Well, you wanted to hear from me but there is no one here to talk to.

You asked what I was doing - well a friend of mine needed to put her father into a home. He has grown very senile. He had a ton of stuff, mostly useless, but some things had value. We would skype and I would take pictures and tried to id some of these things for value. She needed all the money she could get to help support her father. Nothing exciting, but I didn't want to talk about it unless she said it was okay. So sorry to disappoint everyone, but that was my big thing I've been working on for several weeks now. Apparently as long as I can sit on my ass, I am capable of being useful.

I surely can't do anything that requires any real effort. When I moved into my new house, I had the painter take down all the ugly curtains and rods, fill in the holes and paint. So now I wanted to install new drapes, starting with the dining room. Well, to be blunt, I couldn't do it - something I should be able to do, but I just can't do it anymore. (So aging really sucks!) I am now totally worthless. No strenght in my right hand since the surgery and also no sense of balance because of a cold I got about 6 years ago in my spinal cord. Seems all I am able to do is mark the wall with a pencil where I wanted to install the rod. When I tried to actually install it.... what a joke. I was worthless, totally useless. I couldn't get above the first step of the ladder without starting to loose my balance.

Now I'm going to have to take it all back. There are no handymen around any more, I looked. And, I'm not about to hire one of the illegals that hangs around Lowe's or Home Depot. Only way possible would be to hire a professional person to make me new drapes and hang them, but that will cost me a miminum of about 4 times more, something I just can't afford to do right now (if ever).

So, now aren't you sorry you asked!

Laurie - you should check with the people IN Lowes and see if they have someone for general handyman jobs.

I have no idea where today has gone.....and I haven't even done anything productive at all!!

I've been talked into going to a Hen night tonight seeing as Ellie is spending the night at my sisters'.....there's bound to be hugging with all those drunk girls and we all know how I feel about that!!!
It's the first time I've been 'out' since the Woohoo meet in November, which is still 2 more times than I would normally go out. People are going to start expecting me to be sociable.......why do I agree to these things!

oh well, dependant on how much and what sort of alcohol I imbibe expect some badly spelled and incoherent posts later!

Checked there, Bed, Bath and Beyond and Home Depot - all said the same thing. Too small of a job. Only one set of drapes being hung - about a 20 or 30 minutes job. No one wants to do that. Sorry. I use to be able to do such things and I'm just mad at myself for still not being able to do it anymore. Riduculous!

However - not all is bleak - A wonderful friend is coming over tomorrow and said he would do it for me while he was here. I should say 2 friends - his wife is coming too - so no comments! Having younger friends is great! But being older still sucks! I hate giving up any of my independence!

So my gloom and doom time is over now! That is until I buy the drapes for another window! Now my only problem is - where is everyone. You all out having fun! And maybe I shouldn't stay up so late - didn't get to bed until almost 5 am. Need to curb my hours and sleep a more normal pattern!

I'm switching to 3d animation instead of videditing and directing so I'm learning a new program which is why I'm not-so-chatty atm but I'm checking on you guys daily I'm just tired all the time...

The first part of my course is modeling and texturing and lighting that and lookie what I made (the modeling is done and now onto the other fun stuff)
