I have just heard THE most UNbelievable thing EVER!!!

They've cast Tom Cruise to play Jack Reacher!!!

Jack is six foot five of fearless muscle with a huge heart - does that sound even remotely like Cruise to you??

Such a shame when they cast for the star rather than for the character. Shows a complete lack of appreciation for the source material and the existing fans for anything other than generating profit.

I've got a busy week ahead... Ellie is away until next Saturday (PGL activity week) and I have decided to paint the house from top to bottom! Also I have found out that underneath the very worn carpet on my stairs is some nice looking wood that just needs a sanding and varnish, so that will probably get done too...... well it seemed like a good idea at the time!

Now off to get a new bed as bedrooms are being swapped too this week!

Just one thing though, you might want to give a little thought to how noisy those stairs will be with no carpet on them

Not as ambitious as you'd think. On a good day my whole house is only 4.5 x 6.5 m - 2 paintable rooms upstairs (and a very small landing) and my entire downstairs is openplan. So I'm hopeful it'll all get done!

Already taken into consideration, ordered some carpet treads to make areas of the treads a little quieter. Not just for the noise, if I leave them slippy varnish I will end up hurting myself!

That's good - woodn't want you slipping and doing yourself an injury this close to AT6

The scaffolding has finally been removed from my house - I was beginning to think I was stuck with it The new roof does look good though

Stopping by from rainy Dorset to say thanks for the huggles. I was lost and sad and lonely the other night, and even the fire and tequila couldn't cheer me up (I suspect the tequila made it worse actually. ) So it was nice to be huggled from afar.

And... Kevin Costner can sing? Wow, learn something new. He's not bad on the eyes these days either. Did nothing for me when he was younger (although I could see the appeal, and liked his films well enough), but he's definitely one who's got better as he's got older.

Excellent news: Got an early appt with doctor today and was given the okay to go to AT6! YEAH!
