Alright - I give - what character is Jack Reacher from? Mind a little foggy, just woke up.

Made a big mistake yesterday - when coming home from Doc's I decided to eat a chicken pita sandwich from Jack's. Lot's of lettuce in it - obviously unclean lettuce - spent the night being very sick - not a pleasant way to spend the night! No more fast foods with lettuce! Idiots don't know how to wash their own hands let alone the lettuce!

Also - back wasn't effected by this last problem!

Jack Reacher is a character ceated by Lee Child in a series of books:

      "Physical appearance

Reacher is 6' 5" tall (1.96m) with a 50-inch chest, and weighing between 210 and 250 pounds (100–115 kg). He has ice-blue eyes and dirty blond hair. He has very little body fat, and his muscular physique is completely natural (he reveals in Persuader, he has never been an exercise enthusiast). He is exceptionally strong but is not a good runner. Reacher's strength is combined with his savant intellect and military training, analyzing his environment and opponents at extremely high processing speeds.

Reacher has various scars, most notably a scar on his abdomen caused by a bombing in Lebanon. He also has a 3–4 inch thin white scar that intersects his shrapnel scar that he received during a knife fight in Gone Tomorrow. Reacher mentions how the rough stitch work from his existing scar helped decrease the severity of his most recent attack. However, the cut did produce a deep, serious gash that led to Reacher passing out from blood loss. He also has a scar on his chest from a .38 bullet, a tear drop burn scar from close range gunshot that crossed his chest at point blank range,[8] and one on his arm where his brother struck him with a chisel in his youth."

Whoever is making the movie obviously hasn't read any of the books

I have, and Jack is a favourite character of mine - I'm really ticked off about him being so badly miscast

I've nothing against Cruise, I've enjoyed several of his films - I just don't see him being a credible Jack Reacher.

Edit: Chris Heyerdahl wood have been perfect

Well in movies hair color can be changed easily and his eyes are blue (I think) - but nothing else fits! So understand. Hate it when they so change a character to fit the "star"! I also like Cruise - he's a very capable actor..... but when a character has been so well described, you have to wonder - is he is being added for his "name" and nothing else? This will ruin it for many people!

BTW - you mad at Martin or something = I mean Costner?? Also a very good actor - but he isn't Martin!

Quick questions for anyone who can answer:

Does anyone have a pair of Ugg boots? If so, are they really comfortable and how is the sizing compared to other shoes?

That's...Interesting...And now my mind is thinking of gangers, which reminds me of the flesh, which reminds me of Amy and Rory, which reminds me of Melody, which reminds me of River, which makes me think of the Doctor, which makes me sad because I have to wait until December.
This is why I love sci-fi fandom.
I'm not into a lot of 'big' sci-fi shows, but because of GW/FB/whatever other medium we use, I actually do get what people mean. I feel lucky, for sci-fi humour/ discussion is kind of weird.

I agree. Sci-fi humor and discussion are usually kind of weird, and I love being able to talk about it with people who get what I'm saying. Even if people don't watch a particular show, they can still comment sometimes just on the basic principles of the genre. And that's one reason I'm glad to have several GW people as friends on FB, because then I know that at least some people on FB will get what I mean lol.

And now I feel a sappy "I love you guys" coming on. If you don't like squishy lovey hugs, I'll give you a 2 second head start.

Right! I find myself giggling over the countless Doctor Who jokes and comments on FB and that's saying something because I have hardly seen the show and I'm not into it (*ducks* ) because of that. Fans education! And then there's communal Shipping, PTB worshipping discovering new shows and finding support when something silly like cancellation happens...

True there are some fandom things I have issues with but hey...

It won't ruin it for me - I won't be watching it! From the trailer I saw, they haven't even bothered to change his hair colour. It's a real shame, because the books are brilliant, and there are a lot of them so there is great potential for more movies. If this one is successful they won't be able to change the 'star', which means I won't see any of them I'm shocked that Lee Child has allowed this to happen

He's also a great director - and he has green eyes

He'd also make a better Reacher than Cruise..........

GW's theme weekend this month is based on the show "Supernatural" but is inclusive of all that goes bump in the night. I've never seen the show, but it's the basic Halloween idea anyway...

                          Yes

And well... I think he makes a decent actor, but seeing him in the media has tainted the way I see him. This is a huge IMHO, but I think he's somewhat of a creep. Probably influenced by the media, but the image sticks.

Ah, I see. I've watched a couple of eps, but it's not really grabbing me so far - although I did enjoy Chris Heyerdahl's bad guy

Yes, he doesn't do himself any favours publicity-wise

Lack of imagination I guess. It's not like everybody on GW knows the first thing about SPN
