During Hollow Men, Amanda took over the direction whilst Martin went off to attend a Father's Day tea at his son's preschool. How's that for parental dedication? He was so pleased that he got to see his son sing

Well, you are right....but they were my Mom's stuff. So every once in a while (about 2 or 3 times a year) I bake something. However, I have decided I do have to much stuff. I am going to weed things out. First though, I am going to unpack everything. Then room by room, drawer by drawer, I am going to get rid of stuff. I may end up only throwing out a toothpick....but I'm going to try. I know I will move again and it has to be easier! This move really took it out of me....and I don't have that much left to take!

Jumble - only the last picture showed up with him at the end of the cliff....the other three had a big X instead! Okay, finally got to see all but the first picture. So what is it about or something. Did enjoy seeing him on the horse....looked funny!

Sarai - somewhere I missed what happened. Did you not get the house? That would be very sad.

After trying to find any excuse to not go running today, I had to gear up and go because in the end I knew all my excuses were BS and I'd regret it if I didn't go. It's hot and humid today, but home now with the A/C and feeling happy that I went. Endorphins are lovely. Hence the extra hugs.

What's happened???

She can't have lost it, the contract has been signed..... I'm guessing the completion date isn't the one she needed

We had an appointment on Thursday to sign the contract and confirm we were happy with everything in the way of searches etc.. In the meeting we discussed a potential completion date of this coming Friday - something that the solicitor would have to sort out with the sellers' solicitors last Friday (the 23rd) as there usually needs to be at least a week between signing the contract and completion to move the money around and get the funds in place from the lender. So it got to about 13:00 today and I was starting to get a little worried about not hearing anything from the solicitors about whether or not we'll be able to complete this Friday. As usual, she was unable to speak to me, but I left a message. Got a call from the estate agents a couple of hours later - who shouldn't even be involved at this point - wondering what was going on because the sellers solicitors and the sellers themselves haven't heard anything and the sellers were getting a little nervous (join the club!). After some investigative research, involving the estate agent phoning the sellers' solicitors and my solicitors - something she didn't have to do - turns out our solicitor never even called the sellers solicitors on Friday!! She also had taken the afternoon off today and failed to return either mine or the estate agents phone calls.

On top of that, she was also supposed to send us the bank details for where to send our deposit to on Friday - something she never did - but her assistant gave them to me over the phone this afternoon - if it was that easy why couldn't the b***** woman give us those details in our meeting on Thursday??? The assistant also insisted we pay them 10% of the purchase price in terms of deposit which is about a 1/3 less than we've agreed - I queried it but she was "of course" in the right. Tbh I'm b******* if I'm going to let them have any money at all until I know they know it's the right amount. This, on top of everything else they haven't done is just the last straw. I'll be making an official complaint, but it doesn't solve the fact that we probably won't get the completion date we asked for, all because our solicitor is incompetent.

*huggles Sarai* Sounds like you certainly have grounds for making a complaint You'd need to get written confirmation from the EA and the Vendors' Solicitors that she didn't follow through on the contract though, which might be difficult.

The 10% deposit is the usual amount, so it's probably just that you'll have to make sure the rest is available to your solicitor by the completion date. Do you know the exact figure that was quoted on the contract?

Hopefully now you'll get it sorted out and be able to move soon

My dear Woohoo's
It seems as though the only time I have to come in here is with bad news. So here I am again. Today Charmaine was in a car accident. Her injuries from the accident were few (a broken wrist was it) but the accident and the airbag hitting her in the head caused a second stroke. This one more severe than the last. She is in ICU and has been unconscious all day. She has a tube down her throat to help her breathe. Beyond that I don't know anything else.
If so inclined, please pray for us.
